Placed My First Two Bets!
#1
I was presenting at a school on the east side, so I had to drive through downtown on the way home, so I had my driver stop at Hard Rock so I could place some bets!

I only saw two bets- one for MVP and one for the Super Bowl- so I put a hundred on each and I think MVP pays out $800 and the Super Bowl pays out a thousand.

I wanted to bet for more, like Chase for some receiving awards, but the sheet only had the two bets I saw, but hopefully they'll eventually have more, like individual stays and what-not. Wasn't too impressed with the Sportsbook because it was just a window on the wall, like the windows where you cash out, but I was so tired from waking up at 5 this morning that I wasn't thinking straight, so there might be an entire restaurant with TVs.

WHO-DEY!

I placed my first bets in Ohio on Midnight of New Years Eve at Hollywood Casino in Dayton that has Bar Stool live betting. 3 team including odds parlay for 30 bucks would pay over 200 bucks. 10 teams including the odds for 5 bucks would pay over 3 thousand bucks. That is a 35 dollar weekend bet total with a chance to win 200 or maybe 3.500 bucks. I don't like just betting single games because to payout is less than 2 to 1. You bet more than you are going to win, which to me is not good. Plus single games would add to how much I'm betting. I like the 35 Dollar bet of a 3 team parlay and a 10 team parley. The 3 team I might just hit a few times in a season. The 10 team maybe never, but you never know and I would grab the over 3 thousand lottery type pick.

I was going to do Kentucky Derby, but I don't know horses. So I'm waiting for football. I may not bet every week. Week One, I do not see 3 teams I like yet, but this is May. Come the Thursday morning of first week, I may see 3 teams. For 5 bucks, I'll find 10 teams. The 3 thousand buck bet for 5 is something I'll do every week,

But, I may never win anything. With betting now Legal in Ohio, there is one basic fact. The odds are you are going to lose your money. So if you don't have the money to lose, do not bet, because you probably will lose. Go to any race track, and after the last race, look at all the losing tickets on the ground all over the track. That's a ton of money laying on the ground, and sadly people going home to tell the wife that they lost the house payment money. Nothing sadder than all those losing tickets on the ground, more loses than winners which is how Casinos make money. More losers than winners.

Anybody who even thinks they have a gambling problem should not bet. Much like booze or drugs, if it is effecting your Family or Job or You, seek help for your gambling addiction. If you do bet, odds are you will lose, so only bet what you can afford to lose. If you win, do not be foolish to think you can make a living gambling. If you win, it is blind luck. I have seen people win and keep betting and the Track or Casino gets the money right back, plus all the suckers money. Only the Casino can make a living off gambling because the Odds are always in their favor. The WC Fields movies about A Sucker Born Every Minute and Never Give A Sucker An Even Break are true. The Casino movie how you can't beat The House is true. Anything you can bet money on can be rigged.

Even Football Pool sheets. How do you know somebody isn't putting in sheets AFTER the games, therefore You Lose. You only lose one game, so you figure you won, and they tell you somebody picked every game right. Really, every game right. Sounds like The Sting Movie and they are post marking after the games are played. Anything you bet money on can be rigged. Many people can stack a deck of cards, I can't but many can. I use to get in these 31 games but I learned if I made it to just me and one person, that my only chance to win was on my deals, because many people can stack a deck of cards.

A Fool and His Money are Soon Parted.....that saying is very true, especially on gambling, booze, drugs and I will include the stock market. If you lose in the stock market, you can't deduct that from taxes, but if you make any money it is taxed. Again, just another Rigged Game.

Yep. Casinos don't build those big casinos, or even stay in business, from losing money.

I'm going to do the same as you and not bet many (if any) single games and just focus on parlays of multiple games or even things like Burrow throwing multiple TDs, Chase over 150 yards plus a score, and then also getting the W/money line for us.

I think this is going to be the year with the best odds for things like Burrow MVP and Chase leading the league in statistical categories or offensive player of the year. Maybe Murphy for defensive rookie of the year and maybe Burrow FedEx Air Player of the Year.

I think gambling will help make it more interesting since we're good now.

I'm going to stop by the casino on my way to home games before I tailgate or go to The Banks and then maybe stop by after to watch other games and gamble.

I only went to the betting cages, so I didn't see the actual bar/restaurant or anything, but I might stop by tomorrow to see it all on my way home because I'm presenting at a Driver Intervention Program in Blue Ash for people who have gotten DUIs or other traffic offenses.
