Wait...it's not a liberal plot?!?!  Ninja

Quote:How did Haitian migrants get to Del Rio, Texas?

Haitians have been crossing from Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, into Del Rio, Texas, for almost three weeks.

Some Haitians at the camp lived in Mexican cities on the U.S. border for some time, while others arrived recently after being stuck near Mexico's southern border with Guatemala, said Nicole Phillips, the legal director for advocacy group Haitian Bridge Alliance. Many have been waiting in camps in Mexico before deciding whether to cross the border.

Many left Haiti in the wake of a devastating 2010 earthquake and lived in South America for years. As jobs from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro vanished, many traveled by foot, bus and car to the U.S. border.

It is not clear how the large group amassed so quickly, but misinformation may have played a role, according to Edgar Rodríguez, lawyer for the Casa del Migrante migrant shelter in Piedras Negras, south of Del Rio. Migrants often make choices after hearing false rumors that policies are going to change or that cities have different enforcement policies.

I don't think his question was how they got to the US border from Mexico, but how they got to Mexico from a distant island nation in such numbers.  I thought that was rather obvious.

I assume you're smart enough to have heard about boats and maybe even airplanes.

But you know what happens when you assume....  Smirk

I've heard tell of such things, yes.  Which raises his other point, how did dirt poor people get from a remote island to Mexico?  See, when you're dirt poor you can't afford things like airplane tickets or passage on a ship.  Stowaways could account for a small number, but not the large numbers we're talking about.

Oh, as to complaining about being off topic, I do believe you started this discussion in here, not me.  No assumptions necessary on that score.   Smirk

This is why you're so boring anymore.  I never "complained" about anything being "off topic".  I have in the past commented on posts and then literally say back to the stuff the thread is about.  You literally just made something up to try and argue.  It's sad.

Calm down, Dino, it's nothing to get upset about.  Lastly, there are shorter ways of saying you can't answer a question instead of this lame dodge.  I'll demonstrate.

Gee SSF, I have no idea how so many dirt poor Haitians managed to get from their remote island to Mexico.

See how easy that is?  Now back to your pictures.   Smirk
