Position Review - CB
#21
Due to Pacman's off field troubles signing Dre has almost become a must. And he has vastly improved over the last year. He's earned a contract.
Jones needs released.
Dennard hasn't showed much.
Jackson is just getting started.
Shaw may still turn out.

We may indeed need to sign a FA.

Dre, Dennard on the outside with WJ3/Shaw in the Slot with Shaw also playing Safety if Shawn continues to struggle.

Bottom line, Shaw makes it all possible with his versatility.

Hill is like 1st or 2nd in the NFL in TD's since he came into the league.

Package him with McCarron and we could get atleast a couple mid rounders out of them i betcha.

Gimme that ham sammitch. Mellow

Where is the roll my eyes emoticon? This will have to do... Shocked

Because goal line rb are really hard to find.our redzone % was great this year wasnt it? ...take away hills games vs the browns and he is a nobody...keep paying for mediocrity and that what you will get...we can trade mccaron but hill will be out of the nfl in 2 years no one wants that.

Cut Jones. His lack of discipline on and off the field combined with a salary that doesn't match his play last year is a good enough reason to move on. Sign Dre, he has gotten better every year. Let Dennard and WJIII battle for CB2. If the drafting is as good as we all think it is one should be decent. Both need time to learn by playing like Dre got. With the money they save on Jones they can sign a CB who is good in the slot. And should have money to spare. The skill set for slot CBs is different than boundary CBs. Dre, Dennard and WJIII are all boundary CBs. So need to prioritize a slot CB

Also need a true FS. Gave up more deep passes this year than at anytime during the Nelson years. Ilka and Wiiliams are both SS. Need someone who can play the ball in the air and pick-off passes. Wiiliams and Iloka are both physical presences but not good at locating ball. They are basically the same player
