Practice Squad Signees
#1
official list

I would look for McTyer to be signed to replace Waynes. 2 spots still open

-DE Freedom Akinmoladun (first-year, Nebraska)

-QB Brandon Allen (fourth-year player, Arkansas)

-DE Amani Bledsoe (first-year player, Oklahoma)

-DE Kendall Futrell (rookie, East Carolina)

-S Trayvon Henderson (second-year player, Hawaii)

-WR Trenton Irwin (first-year player, Stanford)

-OT Josh Knipfel (rookie, Iowa State)

-DT Kahlil McKenzie (second-year player, Tennessee)

-WR Stanley Morgan (second-year player, Nebraska)

-HB Jacques Patrick (rookie, Florida State)

-CB Winston Rose (first-year player, New Mexico State)

-TE Mason Schreck (third-year player, Buffalo)

-WR Scotty Washington (rookie, Wake Forest)

-TE Mitchell Wilcox (rookie, South Florida)

Glad Rose is back. Thought he had a shot at the 53.

Since we didn't claim a CB yet for Waynes' move to IR, I'd think we'd have 1-2 more CBs on the PS. McTyer. Mabin.

McTyer or Mabin could even be re-signed to the 53 to take Waynes's spot. Or some other vet out there.

I guess Dolegala just never developed past his early promise

I would drop Schreck for Dolegala, otherwise nice looking squad. Looks like 2 spots still open, if I’m counting right. Only 1 Oline on there, could probably use another and a LB.

I could see Redmond claiming one of those spots if he clears waivers

Good update!

By my count, that is 14 guys. So room for 2 more. I'd note there are no linebackers there (Futrell, sort of). No listed OG/C (though McKenzie may be more a G than a DT). Other than McKenzie, no listed DT (Dishon). And no reserve specialists.

we have 6 LBs on the roster there should be enough depth there already.

True.

But we have 7 WRs and 3 more on the PS.

Point being, I do not think it was the positional numbers that prevented us from keeping a LB. We only really had 1 in camp (Spears) and maybe we just don't think he is NFL quality.

I’d like to see another kicker on the PS as protection against a Game Day positive test

Why Schreck when you only have Carter backing up Sample and C.J.??? Dump Allen for Dolegala.

I’d rather see what Wilcox has as the 4th TE. Seen enough of Schreck.

Dolegala must either have no touch and accuracy to go with that big arm, or just can’t keep up mentally at the NFL level. Surprised to not see him on the PS.

I would kindly like to remind the front office we need OL and LB help. One total at both positions on a 16 man PS is not acceptable.

To be fair, we've never really seen what Schreck can do... he as well as Wilcox are stuck behind Carter who provides.... I can't think of anything..
