President Trump chooses inexperienced woman who planned his son Eric's wedding to run
#1
...to run N.Y. federal housing

Quote:She’s arranged tournaments at Trump golf courses, served as the liaison to the Trump family during his presidential campaign, and even arranged Eric Trump’s wedding.

Now President Trump has appointed longtime loyalist Lynne Patton — who has zero housing experience and claims a law degree the school says she never earned — to run the office that oversees federal housing programs in New York.

Patton was appointed Wednesday to head up the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Region II, which includes New York and New Jersey, where she’ll oversee distribution of billions of taxpayer dollars.

Patton’s tight relationship with the Trump clan dates back to 2009, when she began serving as the family’s “event planner.”

“Responsible for organizing, executing and assisting with upscale events and celebrity golf tournaments,” her LinkedIn profile says.
“Handle celebrity talent acquisition for various marketing projects, philanthropic events and golf tournaments.”

From 2011 through January, she also helped run the Eric Trump Foundation, a charity that's now under investigation by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

She also claims on her LinkedIn page to have obtained a juris doctorate degree in 2000 from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut. Next to the J.D. notation is written (N/A) without explanation.

On Thursday school registrar Jim Benson said Patton attended for two semesters but did not graduate.

She also listed Yale University but HUD officials couldn’t explain why that was there. Patton, who begins her Region II job July 5, did not return calls seeking comment.

As head of the biggest HUD regional office in the U.S., Patton will oversee distribution of billions in cash to public housing authorities — including NYCHA — as well as tens of thousands of rental vouchers and block grants that fund housing inspections and senior citizen programs.

Patton is one of the handful of African Americans within Trump’s inner circle and a passionate Trump promoter. Last year she made a video entitled "I'm proof Donald Trump isn't a bigot.”

Trump first placed her as a White House liaison at HUD in February. While there, she’s fired off multiple flamethrowing tweets for him and his family.

When comedian Kathy Griffin tweeted a photo May 30 holding a phony bloody Trump head, Patton tweeted, “To date I've always had a mutual respect for opinions on the other side of the aisle but tonight @kathygriffin can go f--k herself.”

On June 9, she retweeted a cartoon about leaks depicting Trump taking a wrench to a leaky pipe upon which ex-FBI Director James Comey’s head was affixed. She wrote "Just when you think you've fixed them all, another one pops up."

Last month she defended HUD Secretary Ben Carson after he said poverty was a state of mind, and cheered Budget Director Mick Mulvaney's statement that Team Trump is "no longer going to measure compassion by the number of programs or the number of people on those programs but by the number of people we help get off those programs."

Patton has also had to defend her role as former vice president at Eric Trump’s foundation. Forbes last week reported the charity steered money to the Trump empire by holding events at Trump golf courses while she was there. She said nothing untoward happened at the charity.

Last month she paid a surprise visit to NYCHA but never actually entered a NYCHA apartment.

During the May 5 visit, she asked to see a community center that had fallen into disrepair at the McKinley Houses in the Bronx. NYCHA Chairwoman Shola Olatoye said the agency staff who escorted Patton said she was “less interested in the actual infrastructure and more interested in an old clipping of the community center that was all glass and steel and now is struggling.”

“I think the reaction was surprise, maybe a little bit horrified,” Olatoye said.

Nearly 70% of NYCHA's operational budget and 100% of its capital repair budget comes from HUD. The authority’s aging buildings need an estimated $17 billion in upgrades.

The Region II director's position had been vacant since Jan. 20.

I guess we have to give him a chance...he's new at this?

He has a lot of business interests in the area that he needs to funnel taxpayer money to. She is perfect for the job. Give the guy a break.

First it was he chose too many white men.
Then it was he chose too many white men/women.
Now it's he's choosing the non-white, non-male people you wanted, but not the ones you wanted.

We get it. You will never be happy.

Yes, the point was the skin color and gender was the problem, not the lack of experience and history of fraud.

Trump could hire Obama in drag, and as long as nobody knew it was Obama, people still wouldn't be happy with the choice because Trump made it.

Obama tried to choose like three straight people who didn't pay/had tax problems when he was appointing his cabinet. Do you think GMD was rioting online over those choices?

Obama was a phony and never let his donors down at the expense of the American worker. He's no longer president, stop using him as justification for Trump doing the exact same thing. For Obama it was Bush, for Bush it was Clinton, for Clinton it was Bush, for Reagan it was Carter. See the pattern?

People need to wake up and stop pretending like their favorite political team is justified in anything they do because of the "R" or "D" by their name. BOTH parties are selling us out to the highest bidder while most people are cheerleaders fighting each other over table scraps.

Yup, that's pretty much where I stand on that matter, too.

Did I want Trump as my President? Nope. Did I want Obama as my President? Nope. But they got elected and became my President, so I just dealt with it, appreciated some of the good stuff they do, and dislike the bad stuff they do. I just want some people on here and a LOT of people elsewhere to get the heck over it already and move on.

I just get tired of the mostly one-sided hypocritical Trump bashing in this forum, at times. So I like to point out that their shit does indeed stink as well.

A conman who ran a fake college is hiring the lady with fake college degrees and no experience in the field. She planned his kids wedding and some golf tournaments and helped run his sons charity that took money from kids with cancer.

Really shouldnt be one sided. No matter your political affiliation this shouldnt sit well.

Maybe its fake news and i bought it hook line and sinker. Or maybe someone completely unqualified was put in charge of shitloads of tax payer dollars.

My shit stinks. That doesnt mean i look the other way when someone is throwing huge turds at my house.

You should get out more. Everyone thinks he's an idiot, not just the people here. "In a recent Quinnipiac University poll, respondents were asked what word immediately came to mind when they thought of Donald Trump: The No. 1 response was “idiot.” This was followed by “incompetent,” “liar,”..." (Source was the Jew York Times so feel free to dismiss it.)

May 10, 2017 - U.S. Voters Send Trump Approval To Near Record Low; Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; No Winner In Media War, But Voters Trust Media More

Additional Trend Information
Sample and Methodology detail

American voters, who gave President Donald Trump a slight approval bump after the missile strike in Syria, today give him a near-record negative 36 - 58 percent job approval rating, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. Critical are big losses among white voters with no college degree, white men and independent voters.

Today's job approval rating compares to a negative 40 - 56 percent approval rating in an April 19 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University and a negative 35 - 57 percent score April 4, his lowest approval rating since he became president.

The president is losing support among independent voters and groups which are important parts of his base. Approval ratings are:
  • Negative 29 - 63 percent among independent voters, down from a negative 38 - 56 percent April 19;
  • A split among white voters with no college degree, as 47 percent approve and 46 percent disapprove, compared to a 57 - 38 percent approval April 19;
  • White men go from a 53 - 41 percent approval April 19 to a split today with 48 percent approving and 46 percent disapproving.
American voters' opinions of several of Trump's personal qualities are down:
  • 61 - 33 percent that he is not honest, compared to 58 - 37 percent April 19;
  • 56 - 41 percent that he does not have good leadership skills, little change;
  • 59 - 38 percent that he does not care about average Americans, compared to 57 - 42 percent April 19;
  • 66 - 29 percent that he is not level-headed, compared to 63 - 33 percent last month;
  • 62 - 35 percent that he is a strong person, little change;
  • 56 - 41 percent that he is intelligent, compared to 58 - 38 percent;
  • 64 - 32 percent that he does not share their values, compared to 61 - 35 percent.
"There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

"The erosion of white men, white voters without college degrees and independent voters, the declaration by voters that President Donald Trump's first 100 days were mainly a failure and deepening concerns about Trump's honesty, intelligence and level headedness are red flags that the administration simply can't brush away," Malloy added.

American voters disapprove 52 - 40 percent of the way Trump is handling the economy. His grades on handling other issues are:
  • 44 percent approve of the way he is handling U.S. policy toward North Korea and 48 percent disapprove;
  • Disapprove 59 - 36 percent of the way he is handling foreign policy;
  • 45 percent approve of the way he is handling terrorism and 48 percent disapprove;
  • Disapprove 62 - 35 percent of the way he is handling immigration.
Trump and the Media

American voters disapprove 58 - 37 percent of the way the news media covers Trump. Voters disapprove 65 - 31 percent of the way Trump talks about the media. And voters trust the media more than Trump 57 - 31 percent to tell the truth about important issues.

Trump's first 100 days in office have been "mainly a failure," 58 percent of voters say, while 38 percent say they have been "mainly a success."

By a 54 - 38 percent margin, American voters want the Democratic Party to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives. This is the widest margin ever measured for this question in a Quinnipiac University poll, exceeding a 5 percentage point margin for Republicans in 2013.

If Democrats had won control of the U.S. Senate in the 2016 elections, the country would be in a better place than it is now, 41 percent of voters say, while 27 percent say it would be in a worse place and 30 percent say it would be the same.

American voters dislike Democrats less than they dislike Republicans:
  • Voters disapprove 71 - 22 percent of the way Republicans in Congress do their job;
  • Voters disapprove 58 - 34 percent of the way Democrats in Congress are doing their job.
From May 4 - 9, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,078 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones.

The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts public opinion surveys in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and the nation as a public service and for research.

First he chose too many incompetent white men.

Then it was too many incompetent white women.

Now he chooses an incompetent non-white, non-male, instead of a competent one like the liberals wanted.

And liberals still aren't happy. They never will be.
