Project the stats for week 1: OFFENSE
#1
I didn't bother with backup running backs, or WRs that might not get many snaps, but feel free to have them in your list:

Joe Burrow- 26/36 for 310 yards, 4 TDs (one rushing), 1 INT

Joe Mixon- 24 caries for 122 yards, 4 receptions for 45 yards, 1 TD (receiving)

AJ Green- 5 catches, 45 yards, 1 TD

John Ross- 3 catches 75 yards, 1 TD

Tyler Boyd- 10 catches for 105 yards

CJ Uzomah- 2 catches for 20 yards

Drew Sample- 1 catch for 15 yards

EDIT:  Maybe I should have adjusted for what could be AM showers in Cincinnati on Sunday.  How else would we expect our first game to be?  Groan.

Sorry SH, I am already going to call your prediction inaccurate. Giovani Bernard has played in 99 games in his career. He has only failed to manage at least 1 reception in 3 of those 99 games.

Also now his picture for Pro Football Reference is this:

...and it is glorious.

I think Burrow has a solid day, plan is to be run first but he still ends up throwing a lot as we saw a lot of last year. Lots of short stuff and check downs. I don’t expect him to light the world on fire but think he’ll be good enough to get the W.

Burrow 22/38 280 yards 2 TD’s 1 pick (not his fault)
Green 5 rec 61 yards
Boyd 10 rec 109 yards 1 TD
Ross 2 rec 50 yards 1 TD
Uz 1 rec 10 yards
Sample 1 rec 20 yards
Mixon 2 rec 15 yards
Gio 1 rec 15 yards

Mixon 27 carries 145 yards 1 TD

Bengals win 27-23

Did you count up all Burrow's completions?  There was one unaccounted for...That was a Gio.

I love the guy, but they just don't seem interested in using him except to block.  I sincerely hope that changes.

Acceptable. Barely. Next time don't disrespect the 'stache. Lol   Ninja

Yeah, they really didn't use him much or well, but even then he still had at least one catch in 15/16 games in 2019. Only game he didn't have one was Week 17.

Last year, when both Ross and Green were out for a period, I was surprised they didn't line up Gio at the slot WR position and move Boyd outside.  You could say there were tanking, but the memory of when they were using Burkhead as a scout team WR in the slot got them to realize he was a pretty good option really pissed me off.  I mean, the kid had the fastest short shuttle in the draft when he came out...why WOULDNT you use him as a receiver?

Hoping some of the roster utilization stupidity left with Marv.  No tanking this year.  Time to win and pull out all stops.

I think we can win and Burrow can look promising, but I also think it's fair to expect offenses to be sluggish in week 1 across the NFL board, especially since we are starting a rookie QB who hasn't even taken a pre-season snap.

You know, nuts to it, Burrow throws 4 Tds and I feel like a horse's patoot for leaving him on my fantasy bench.
