Protest Smarter, For Your Own Sake
#1
https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/articles/marines-and-trump-protest-face-off

150 people protesting Trump in Florida on Thursday pass by a pub. The problem? Thursday was the 241st Birthday of the US Marine Corps and 100 Marines were in the pub celebrating it and raising money for the Wounded Warriors Project who apparently didn't much appreciate it.

Thankfully (for the protesters) the police had been following the protesters and quickly got in between the two groups so it didn't end up being anything other than yelling back and forth... but damn.

Look both ways before crossing the streets, and don't do anti-America protests on the Marine Corps Birthday/the day before Veteran's Day. Just advice to live by in order to live longer.

Can you imagine the end result of 150 Bernie Bros/BLM/etc vs 100 Marines if the police (who the BLM people protest, ironically) weren't there?

Are you saying that the government forces would use physical force to intimidate and silence protesters?

Are Marines going to switch to brown shirts for their official uniform now that Trump is President?

Are you saying the Marines need a safe space away from protestors? Wouldn't want them to feel triggered. Mellow

Well you do have to give them some slack. Who the hell would think you might get hit by a car if you assemble on a highway at night?

No, I was just saying that people wouldn't wear a vest made of salmon while hiking in Alaska. People wouldn't make sure all their lane changes were sudden and only in front of semis. Why choose to protest during a huge military unofficial holiday/federal holiday two day span? Then go and antagonize people significantly more capable than you when you do it. This is where we're protecting parts of our population from Darwinism.

Bfine's video is a perfect example. People who are dumb enough/lack the self preservation skills to not walk on a highway in the dark used to be weeded out of the gene pool naturally when life was tougher. Now they're thriving and multiplying.

LMAO....half those protestors probably don't know who Trump beat in the election.  Going out on a limb and saying they didn't know it was a military holiday/celebration (and who here did?)

Wrong.  The protesters were peaceful and had no problems other than with the thuggish jarheads.

Marines were obviously following the brownshirt tradition of intimidation and threats of physical violence.

A peaceful protest on the streets of Ybor City nearly turned into a street brawl if it wasn’t for the hard work of Tampa Police officers jumping in and quickly defusing the situation.

Except for the brief run in with the Trump supporters the rally was peaceful and there were no reports of any arrests.

Yes but who are you going to believe: The news that was there and covered it or the people who have no sources other than their own paranoid imaginations?

Considering how low journalistic standards sunk to during the campaigns, is it surprising that the honesty of major news outlets is called into question?

It's surprising that people think the major news networks are just as bad as Joe Blogger.  Yes.

Journalistic standards are not what they were 30 years ago...but what changed more is people who don't like what they hear on real news so they turn to other places like Alex Jones, James O'Keefe, and a litany of "news" websites.

Yeah, it looks as if the Marines were peacefully having a fund raiser for Wounded Warriors that was interupted by a bunch of folks in sandals marching and yelling. When tolthese troublemakers were asked to go about their business they got mad and caused a rucus. let keep in perspective who invaded whos space in this scenario.

Luckily the Marines used much restaint and these agitators were free to go stir up trouble elsewhere.

Comparing the men and women serving in our military to Nazis.  Well done Fred.

Here's the entire story from Fred's link.

My take is the protesters met some opposition.  Some of the opposition was loud and the cops got between them that one time to keep the peace.

Both sides exercised their first amendment right.  No one arrested.  No harm. no foul.

Not "Nazi's" vs "sandal wearing hippies".

Quote:TAMPA, Fla. - A peaceful protest on the streets of Ybor City nearly turned into a street brawl if it wasn’t for the hard work of Tampa Police officers jumping in and quickly defusing the situation.

Around 7:30 p.m., Thursday protesters began walking down East 8th Avenue chanting against President-elect Donald Trump. Their route took them past a lot of bars and restaurants but once they got to an Irish Pub that was one of the stops for a pub crawl that a lot of Marine Corps members were a part of, things got dicey.

Police had to create a human barrier between the opposing groups as members on both sides screamed obscenities and gave each other the middle finger.

Anti- Trump protesters chanted “dump Trump” as people in the bar cheered “U.S.A” over and over. After some tense minutes the protesters kept on with their march the Trump supporters yelled “you walked into the wrong bar!”

Protesters told ABC Action News reporter Michael Paluska they want to protest peacefully and let the country know they feel cheated by Tuesday’s election.

Following our report some Marines, who were involved in the celebration of the Marine Corps 241st Birthday, contacted ABC Action News to tell us that not everyone involved in the back and forth voted for Trump.  Some people were Trump supporters others were not.
Another viewer added that the event was to raise funds forWounded Warriors Ability Ranch in Pinellas Park .

“People are not going to go down without a fight,” Jenna Ferreira said. “A lot of people are feeling marginalized, a lot of people feeling oppressed, they've lost hope. But, everybody here is full of love and we are going to fight for our rights.”

Protesters hope that the divisive language Trump used before the general election was just something he did to motivate his base.

“I hope a lot of this rhetoric in the pre-primary election and election cycle I hope that was just a show,” Ferreira said.  “I really hope he matures and it's not as bad as we think it is. But, we are all here because we are scared for the worst.”

Tampa police used the street car and their mounted bike patrols to keep protesters from marching to the interstate.  Except for the brief run in with the Trump supporters the rally was peaceful and there were no reports of any arrests.

Trump supporters having dinner in Ybor City shouted “go Trump” at the protesters. They think their marches are a waste of time and that people who voted for Hillary Clinton need to get over it and move on.

“I think they don't really know the issues,” Johnny Gomes said.  “I think that they are misinformed they followed, sorry, but the regular media and don't know the real story.”

And this can tie into the other thread about the "real media" and fake stories.
