Okay okay!!!  We'll leave the fifth round pick for Araiza, but package 4th, 6th, and 7th to move up and draft some quality, okay?

Would love to draft Araiza, but it would probably require doing it with the 3rd round pick. Perhaps trade down with the first pick and acquire more mid rounders. If he resembles himself from last season, it'd absolutely be worth a third rounder. Although he may go before Cincy picks in round 3.

Most NFL punters punt 30-40% of their punts inside the 20. Araiza just kicks everything in the end zone. That's losing yards on those 30-40% of kicks.

This is interesting. The punt efficiency would include the punter and the punt coverage. The efficiency can't be completely attributed to the punter. I guess it is more difficult to determine which approach is better.

Araiza plays in the Mountain West Conference. That’s way too much altitude for me. Hard pass for me. I think he is fools gold and I would hate to drop a 5th or even 4th for a punter.

I would love to see how often our opponents started on the 40-50 yard line this year and our defense bailed us out. Having a game changing punter could realistically with this defense prevent 6-9 points in my opinion.

We ranked 4th to the bottom in the league in punt yards returned at 36 yards.

8th worst in Punt net avg. 36.6 yards

The Bengals defense faced seven total drives where the offense started between the 40 and 50 yard line. This ranked 16th in the league.

Thanks not as much as I thought.  If you have the link or have the time.. how often did we pin them 15 yards from the endzone?

Huber ranked 22nd out of almost 40.

One issue I have heard is since he wanted to do both FG and P in college, he is unreliable as a holder.  Not a small thing...

Exactly.
Its the number one thing that I worry about in selecting him in the draft. The continuity between kicker and holder currently is exceptional and a huge reason why the Bengals played in a SB. This kid is talented at his craft and I'm sure he's on the radar of Simmons so time will tell.

At the end of the day I'd like the pick just to see  immediate results.

Hilarious

To this day, I see that replay and I think that ball was greased.  It had a "shine" to it....so weird.  Not a Cowboys fan at all...love to see them lose, but my conspiracy gene was turned on to maximum.

Tdn has him as the #100 player in the draft which would put him in the 4th.

What’s the highest spot a punter has been selected?

Russell Erxleben was drafted 11th overall back in 1979.

In "recent" years, I believe it was Todd Sauerbrun in 1995, who went 56th overall.

In the past 10 years, the highest punter drafted was Bryan Anger in 2012, who went 70th overall.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins

46.8% of his punts in 2021 were inside the 20
