REDS AUGUST GAME THREAD
#1
The dog days of summer. 2 of the 6 MLB months still to go before play-off October. As the Red Reliever once wrote a book on, it is indeed a Long Season.

Why in the hell did Bell let Hembree pitch to Polonco when he was over 20 pitches already?

Lorenzen should be closing.

Is that the last three losses blown in the 9th? Cubs, Mets, Twins.

A's walked off on SD so Reds are back to 4 behind of the second WC spot.

If Castellanos comes back and doesn’t miss a beat the race for that WC2 spot is going to be interesting. We’ll also need these 2 new relievers and Lorenzen to pitch well down the stretch.

Bally Sports has kind of been a terrible production this year every time I watch it. Always seems to be something wrong.

Won't be interesting when Bell puts Hembree and Doolittle in the game in the 9th. Lol

I got worried as hell. Even though he let Lorenzen get the 5 out save? Doolittle was warming up in the bullpen. The guy has learned basically nothing.

Good start vs a pitcher that has had the Reds number for awhile. Welcome back, Moose. Barnhart hits a three run shot for his 50th career HR to cap off a 7 run 1st. Milwaukee is set to start a three game series against the re-enforced Giants and gets to see a 7-0 score before they hit the field.

Reds just two games behind Padres in loss column.

This is fun.

Even though deadline has passed trades can still be made if players clear waivers. It would be awesome if we could move Suarez for a top line reliever.

Reds are 7 games behind the Brewers. Now only 2 1/2 out of a wild card vs. the Padres. Reds are actually closer now to the Dodgers...6 games from them for the wild card also. Bauer remains out. Kershaw... updated out...until Sept likely.

Looks like Brad Brach just volunteered to give up his roster spot to either Sims or Antone. Two out walk followed by a two run homer. Thank you for helping the Reds to this point but your services are no longer needed here.

Proud of the fans showing up strong. Just over 31,000 for a Pirates game. It's nice to see Castellanos get back into the groove and Akiyama had a Hell of a game. Gutierrez has another strong showing as he drops his ERA to 4.15 and picks up his 7th win. He is completely unfazed by the opposition.

The Giants score the tying run on a misplayed ball by Avisail Garcia on what should have been the final out of the game and take a 5-2 lead with a pitching change with one out in the 10th. The Padres are tied at 2-2 with Arizona in the 7th.

Still a long way to go.

So Giants get 3 runs in the 10th only to let the Brewers score 3 in the bottom of the 10th. Our old friend Sal Romano came in to pitch for the Brewers in the 11th and has given up 3 runs so far. Giants better hold on to it this time.
