Random off season thread......Reggie Sanders.
#1
Just came across an interesting piece of info on ex-Red Reggie Sanders. For those of you too young to remember Reggie Sanders played for the Reds from 1991 through '98. He finished 4th in Rookie of the Year voting in 1992 (he only had 40 at bats in '91 so he was still eligible for ROY in '92). In 1995 he was an All-Star and finished 6th in NL MVP voting (.306, 28 HR, 99 RBI, 36 SB, 91 R). Other then that '95 season he was a solid, but not spectacular, player for the Reds. He never stole 30 bases or hit over .275 again and only had as many as 20 HR one other season.

I knew he played for other teams after he left the reds, but I didn't realize how long or how well. He was never an All-star again, but he had 6 more seasons with 20+ HR including 2 with over 30. He had 3 more seasons with 20+ SB including a year when he matched his career high 36, and he hit at least .285 three more times.

When Sanders retired he was one of only 6 players in major league history with 300 HR and 300 SB. He also had over 1000 runs scored and drove in 983.
