Well, if I am not mistaken, if the Reds win out they will be 81-81. Probably will not happen, but wouldn't that be great? ThumbsUp

Yes it would

But I'd settle for winning all 3 remaining series and going 6 and 3 to close out and finishing the season on a high note. That would put us at 77 wins and basically a 10 game improvement over last 4 seasons.

Aquino hits homer 17 in short time he has been up. He is hot again, so he has chance to hit 20 in just a couple months.

Castillo stays at 15 wins.

The Reds hitting was awful in April and not much better in May. The Reds pitchers and the team should have more wins. Certainly Gray should have more wins than 11 considering he set baseball record of 32 straight games of 6 or less hits breaking Nolan Ryan record. A lot of great pitching by Gray ended up losses due to no hitting and / or blown saves combo. The guys up from minors Senzel, Ervin, Van Meter, Aquino got this team to start hitting near mid season.

Reds have the most 1-run losses in MLB and the next closest team is like 6-7 games back.  If they were able to accomplish just league average they could be +10 games in wins.   Not sure.  The bullpen needs revamp and I am not certain Turner Ward is the answer at hitting coach.

Disco pitched a good game...he has gotten better. Where as Castillo seemed to get worse. I hope it is just arm fatigue for Castillo.

Yesterdays win guarantees a non-90 loss season. Today not looking so good. Down 5-3 in the ninth. Now 6-3 as Romano is still learning how to pitch in the Major Leagues.

Bauer gives up 5 over 7. After getting the first two out in the first inning, back to back doubles, hits a batter, then gives up a three run bomb to Conforto.

In the bottom of the 9th
Pinch hitter Casali looks at a third strike
Ervin grounds out to 1st.
Votto works it to a full count, fouls one off and then draws his third walk of the day.
Suarez then strikes out swinging.

Reds now -2 in the meaningless runs for/against. First time they've been under since April.

Need two out of three from Milwaukee to take the season series(tied at 8-8).

Gray vs Houser
--------------From this point on, final pitching start of the season
Mahle vs Lyles
Castillo vs Anderson - Marty's final game.
@ Pittsburgh
DeSclafani vs Brault
Bauer vs Williams
Gray vs Keller

Gray finishes season with 2.87 ERA, 200 K's, and broke MLB record passing Nolan Ryan for 33 consecutive games of 6 hits or less. Yet he only ends with 11 Wins. The Reds WASTED a great pitching season here. These are the stats of a 20 game winner. The Reds manager, hitters, relief pitchers blew a lot of games that Gray pitched in. These stats should put up 20 wins on a good team, not 11 wins.

That Gray has such great stats and only 11 wins shows how awful Reds still were in 2019.

I think this off season, the Reds go after another batter coach and fire Tuner Ward.

Gray should be 20 game winner or at least knocking on the door. Castillo should have 20 as well ! Mahle could probably have 6 or 8 more wins and you could go on and on.

This teams 1 run game record, day games record, record against Pirates are just inexplicable. Well, the lack of production from a couple positions explains a lot.

Wouldn't doubt it

In the big picture I don't believe this team is to far away from being competitive. Two or three key players, couple coaching changes and we could be knocking on the door of being in the hunt.

Question is will they go for it ?

Lets send Marty off with a win ! :andy:

And then go on to take 2 of 3 against the Pirates and finish with 76 wins. A 9-10 win improvement over last 4 seasons.
