Republican pair apparently pose as communists to make Democratic donation
#1
They must have gone to the James LOL'Keefe school of subterfuge....

Quote:Two young Arizona Republicans tried to make a donation to a Democratic congressman as members of the Communist party in an apparent attempt to tie him to the far left.

On Friday afternoon, two men who called themselves Jose Rosales and Ahmahd Sadia walked into the campaign office of first-term Democrat Tom O’Halleran with $39.68 and an urgent desire for the Northern ArizonaUniversity Communist party to be given a receipt for the donation.

The pair initially walked in to sign up to volunteer but had brought along a jar full of money that they wished to donate.
After being directed to a finance staffer, they were told to fill out paperwork. In doing so, they identified themselves as members of the Northern Arizona University Communist party. They made clear they were not an official group but were holding meetings. But they also insisted upon a receipt.

When told they get only an emailed receipt, Rosales immediately scratched out one email and wrote another. The entire process raised eyebrows among O’Halleran’s staff.

Lindsay Coleman, the finance director for the campaign, then drove to the local Republican field office to return the money. Almost immediately, the man who identified himself as Rosales appeared from a room inside the office and was identified as Oscar. He accepted the money from Coleman.

Speaking to the Guardian, Coleman identified the second man as a field organizer for the Arizona Republican party and said Ahmahd Sadia was not his real name. Neither the Arizona Republican party nor Wendy Rogers, O’Halleran’s Republican opponent for Congress, responded to requests for comment.

Making federal campaign contributions under a false identity is a crime. However, as a dirty trick, the attempt to smear opponents by linking them to unsavory political groups has a long history. In 1972, Roger Stone, then a young campaign staffer for Richard Nixon’s re-election campaign, sent a donation to Nixon’s anti-war primary opponent in the name of the Young Socialist Alliance. Stone went on to serve as Donald Trump’s longtime political adviser, a role he left early in Trump’s presidential campaign.

The rural Arizona district was narrowly won by both Donald Trump in 2016 and Mitt Romney in 2012. However, the non-partisan Cook Political Report classifies the race as Likely Democratic.

For what it is worth, in France, campaigns are paid with public money ( there is a cap room though ). You just have to make 5% of the voters.

So the person who is elected doesn't have to reward those who paid for his campaign but common people.

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

They aren't very good at that.

I wonder if the French also have the sort of population segment we find here where people say America is awesome, and then when you point out that they criticize a significant potion of the American populace they follow with "They aren't real Americans" or something to that effect.

It's got to suck being so close to Germany when they're feeling mean, though. Fun side note, I once had a gf who had a family that was super proud of their German heritage and the fact that they were French-hating republicans. I didn't quite understand how they could hold surrendering against the French but forgive their own proud homeland for attempting to take over the world.

Oh those French...what cowards! They totally surrendered when the awesome Germans were going though that little phase we've clearly forgiven them for. Bratwurst and leiderhosen for all!

IF WWI Was a Bar Fight

Germany, Austria, and Italy are standing together in the middle of a pub when Serbia bumps into Austria and spills Austria’s pint.

Austria demands Serbia buy it a complete new suit because there splashes on its trouser leg.

Germany expresses its support for Austria’s point of view.

Britain recommends everyone calm down a bit.

Serbia points out that it cannot afford a whole new suit, but offers to pay for the cleaning of Austria’s trousers.

Russia and Serbia look at Austria.

Austria asks Serbia who its looking at.

Russia suggests that Austria should leave its little brother alone.

Austria inquires as to whose army will assist Russia in compelling it to do so.

Germany appeals to Britain that France has been looking at it, and that this is sufficiently out of order that Britain should not intervene.

Britain replies that France can look at who it wants to, that Britain is looking at Germany too, and what is Germany going to do about it?

Germany tells Russia to stop looking at Austria, or Germany will render Russia incapable of such action.

Britain and France as Germany if its looking at Belgium.

Turkey and Germany go off into a corner and whisper. When they come back, Turkey makes a show of not looking at anyone.

Germany rolls up its sleeves, looks at France and punches Belgium.

France and Britain punch Germany, Austria punches Russia. Germany punches Britain and France with one hand and punches Russia with the other.

Russia throws a punch at Germany, but misses and nearly falls over.  Japan calls over from the other side of the room that it’s on Britain’s side, but stays there. Italy surprises everyone by punching Austria.

Australia punches Turkey, and gets punched back.  There are no hard feelings because Britain made Australia do it.

France gets thrown thru a plate glass window, but gets back up and carries on fighting. Russia gets thrown thru another one, gets knocked out, suffers brain damage, and wakes up with a complete personality change.

Italy throws a punch at Austria and misses,  but Austria falls over anyway. Italy raises both fists in the air and runs around the room chanting.

America waits till Germany is about to fall over from sustained punching from Britain and France, then walks over and smashes it with a barstool, then pretends it won the fight all by itself.

By now all the chairs are broken and the big mirror over the bar is shattered. Britain and France and America agree that Germany threw the first punch, so the whole thing is Germany’s fault. While Germany is still unconscious, they go thru its pockets, steal its wallet, and buy drinks for all their friends.

Just paying them back for stepping into the American Revolutionary War.

If not for the French we would all be speaking British right now.
