He was part of a group called the 3 preventers and sought to kill people in retaliation for what he saw as government infringement. The undercover FBI agent set him up with a van the terrorist thought was holding explosives. He attempted to activate the explosives via a fake phone trigger and was arrested.

Hopefully the FBI did everything correctly. I remember watching a show about something like this (was based on a true story), and they couldn't let the charges stick since it was labeled as entrapment. Any person with violent intentions should go to jail.

Hah, I wasn't trying to be a smartass, please believe.  If you are involved in gun culture at all you will run into one of these guys eventually.  They are given a wide berth and are considered an embarrassment, making the rest of us look bad.
