Yeah baby. We can all breathe a sign of relief. According to Trump cabinet members on the plane ride home, Trump did fantastic and talked about the elections for a half an hour. Trump got tough with Putin and did a super dupper great bigly job at the summit. He is a master negotiator. ThumbsUp

Although the cabinet members making these gushing statements were not in on this meeting I wonder how they know this? Hmm.

All those years of bankrupting casinos, ripping off college kids, making bad real estate investments and being bailed out by Russian billionaires, and his families wealth of knowledge of having goods made in china. Couldnt have asked to have a better voice at the table representing us.

Exactly. Don't forget the thousands of lawsuits that has been filed against him plus the thousand of workers and contractors he cheated out of paying for work they did for him.

In 2014 trump is on video saying he met Putin. In 2016 , on numerous occasions on video, trump has said he never met Putin.
Which is it? This simple FACT should give all his kool-aid drinking adoring fans reason to pause but it doesn't seem to bother them.
Do these misguided people actually believe that Trump gives a shit about them?
I appreciate people wanting a change. Is this a change for the better, seriously?
He drained the swamp but then filled his half back up with a bunch of spinless ass kissers.
Is this the change you were looking for?
Show us your tax return comrade Trump.

Here is how the conversation went:

Trump to Putin : Did you meddle in our elections?
Putin : No
Trump : Ok thank you.
Trump to Tillerson: Next issue to discuss

Only six people attended this meeting, two were translators.

According to Lavrov, Trump accepted Putin's explanation.

Seems like the president is between a rock and a hard place.

Who to believe--US intel agencies or a Russian dictator who has sought to disrupt elections across Europe?

US voters have the same choice now.

Looking back at how much i disliked Romney in 2012... I would sell my soul if he were allowed to replace Trump today.

Couple weeks after Trump won the nomination. Russian family lawyer for the people involved in some NYC real estate dirty business met with a couple of the kings sons.

Lets wrap another layer of wool over our eyes Trumpets!!

The family whose leader made sure they made money off of the kids with cancer was probably super interested in the adoption thing.

Just close your eyes and imagine tax cuts for the rich and repeat after me... Bigly great fantastic tremendous bigly great fantastic tremendous... Keep your minds closed and tune in to fox. America is in the best baby hands imaginable. The life long 71 year old con man finally changed his ways.

Pull that wool down tight and sleep good. The royal family loves you. They only lie to you to protect you.

Sad blatant lying to the American people and two of the presidents sons meeting with a Kremlin lawyer a couple weeks after he won the repub nomination while russians actively fought for a trump win doesnt deserve its own thread.

"In March, Trump Jr. denied ever having discussed government policy with Russian citizens: "A hundred percent no," he said."

I do have to give the Royal family and their merry band of shitbags some credit for one thing. Consistency. The most consistent stream of bullshit that ever has flowed. Wrap enough wool around your head and the bullshit magically disappears. We must be shipping in wool from china at a faster rate than trump ties, maga hats, and ivanka gear.

Its like this is all a bad dream. The Trump machine tells one lie after another. Nothing sticks to the orange orangutan. He has got Fox news in his pocket. CNN reports on something he himself said and he calls them fake news.  You have to give Trump credit though. He saw an opportunity and took full advantage of it. What better way to get more wealth and power than becoming the most powerful person in the world? When he saw all the weak and pathetic candidates running in the Repub primary, he knew he had a chance. He insulted and ridiculed most of these people that has never been done in a election. He wins the election and these same people come crawling back to get on his nutsack. You mention Romney. Romney called Trump a liar, cheat and a fraud. If you felt this way why would you go have dinner with this person?
Trump and his family has made a mockery out of the Presidency.
Both political parties are corrupt. I vote for my best interest.  From my years of experience as a middle class sap the Republicans want to take more money out of my pocket than the Democrats.
The Republican party has turned into a joke.
And finally the question of the day:
As a American citizen, what would bother you the most, a President receiving a BJ in the oval office OR a President giving a BJ to a foreign leader?
This sounds about right.

Balls, something does stick to Trump. The majority did not vote for him, and the majority who do not want him president is growing.

The problem is that he has a "base" of people who don't care about standards that used to be requisite for the highest office in the land. Thanks to that base, Trump's party controls Congress and the White House. That base, and its disregard for those aforementioned standards, is the real problem. They are why Trump is able to continue in power, regardless of his unpresidential behavior.

Well i feel better after learning a little more about this. The royal family only met with the russian national kremlin lawyer because they were promised damaging intel on their political foe. Once she started talking about that adoption bullshit they quickly cut that shit off.

My small country has an alt-right base that's roughly a quarter of our population. Same in your big country. Now here this 25% amount to a potential of 30% max. at the elections. In the US, it amouts to 50%. So I do see a somewhat different problem there as well.

50%?  LOL, I never heard of the alt-right until about last August. You're basically calling every Republican voter, and many independents, the alt-right base. That's obnoxiously ridiculous.

Not every republican voter. But everyone who still supports Trump and is planning to vote for him again. Sure that's his base, what else? To me, that's the equivalent for the "alt-right" base, which is just an expression not free of subjective perception, I used to say right-wing populism. But whatever.
If someone's a republican that now supports Trump no matter what - then yeah, he's part of his base, which I do not see as being republican, but as being "alt-right". I get some will never vote anything else but republican no matter what or who, but that doesn't exclude them from being part of said base. If someone's willingly shouting maga and fake news, he's an alt-right person, that I personally do not see as a republican first and foremost any longer. A traditional republican, as I see it, would distance himself more and more from what's going on right now.

Last month I spent a week in rural Texas with my cousins (15 in number) who range in age from 54-72. 11 of that group voted for Trump, as did their spouses. I'm pretty sure none is alt-right. Some are evangelical, and some struck me as very confused: "I just don't know who to believe" one said. The constant storm of alternative facts has this effect on many voters. Mostly they know a lot about their jobs and local issues but not much about history or how government works.

I share your perception that the support for Trump is unusually strong, not susceptible to counter-argument. But I would caution against overly broad application of a term like "alt-right."  I limit application to white nationalists and those who take up anti-multicultural politics while specifically rejecting traditional conservatism, the Republican establishment, and "globalism."

Islamophobia and anti-immigration sentiment have become "gateway" issues which draw a wide spectrum of conservatives and right wingers into a more alt right worldview, even if people do not explicitly embrace white nationalism. A lot of alt right themes and ideas are bleeding into other conservative groups and positions so the delimitation is no longer as clear as it was a year ago. Blocks of voters, including self-proclaimed "centrists," have moved a step closer to the alt-right, but not close enough to be simply identified with them. We are still a long ways from identifying even a majority of the Trump base with the alt-right.

I looked it up on wikipedia, and if that's accurate, then no way.  The vast majority of people are not white supremacists.  Even people who think whites have been getting crapped on are not white supremacists based on that alone.  There may be certain beliefs of this alt-right that people agree with, but since it seems white supremacy is a major aspect, then no.  Everyone is trying to fit 60 million people into some sort of group because they don't understand what happened.

Do people think all these Trump voters are sitting around on 4chan talking about how whites are going to get their place back? I know a lot of Trump supporters, and I promise you, they would have no idea what you are talking about. They wake up, send their kids to school, go to work, go watch their kid play little league or whatever they do, watch some tv and go to bed. They aren't inbreds or racists or deplorable. They don't have time for political movements. They vote one day every four years for President, and hope for the best.
