Safety Blitz

I had mentioned in my thread titled: "Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes" that I was hopeful that Paulie G. would use some blitz packages against the Browns including a safety or CB blitz. I couldn't remember the last time I had seen the Bengals do that.

Williams showed he can be VERY adept at this with two blitzes and one sack. The other one he didn't get there in time, but he blew up the QB pretty nicely. I think this is a good use of Williams and I hope we see more of it.

Zimmer has proven through the years that safety blitzes can be very effective when the linbackers show a double A-gap look, but I think Williams' performance yesterday may have been the case of rookie quarterbacks struggling to adjust the blocking schemes and hit get rid of the football.
