Save Net Neutrality day
#1
Its pretty simple. If you support companies like Verizion, At&t, Comcast, Spectrum, etc. having the ability to throttle certain websites down to slower speeds (like Netflix or Facebook), perhaps even blocking them entirely if they chose to, & creating separate broadband offers for fast lanes specifically for certain sites, then you support Trump and his FCC chairman on this.

However if you support free and open internet speeds that are fair for all everyone and all, which could effect anyone that uses the net from conservatives to liberals, then you would support keeping Net Neutrality rules in place. This basically keeps broadband providers providing certain broadband speeds, and thats it. This is especially important for areas that only have one broadband provider in the area with no competition.

https://netneutrality.internetassociation.org/action/

That's the link that is popping up on various sites today. It is on Netflix as soon as you sign in, on Twitch, quite a few others from around the web.

Also I am going to assume a vast majority of people that post in here are for Net Neutrality, as I am myself. Personally I think everyone should be for it that uses the net, but hey, sometimes Trump in all his wisdom cant do no wrong when it comes to repealing anything that Obama has done. Even when it favors those major companies listed above over us peasant folk.

As someone with an appreciable amount of Comcast stock, I must denounce this thread as a threat to Liberty!  Bigger government is never the answer! Let the free market decide whether Verizon or Comcast get to block competition.

And if a liberal broadband provider wants to block access to all conservative websites, unless the customer wants to pay more for them, then they should be able to!

Actually I think that would be hilarious if that would happen. Just as long as they leave porn, this site, twitch, and Netflix alone tho.

One of the biggest issues of our time. I hope the legislators taking money from these lobbyists to strip net neutrality rights are publicly shamed along with their bloodlines for many generations to come. The most anti American threat to our liberty is coming from within.

Anyone with a copy of the legal text of what they are looking to change? The support net neutrality link looks similar to an "Obama's coming to get your guns" type of posting, from those days..

Heck, I don't even need to read all the legalese, just someone with a full understanding spell it out in layman's terms.

Dont know exactly yet, but the FCC chairman has already 'vowed' to roll back Net Neutrality that Obama's FCC put in place. And they will start tomorrow on what they will or wont do.

The link above is being put up by a lot of sites so people can link from that directly to the FCC website to voice their opinion on the matter before they decide.

Here is a basic breakdown for both sides of the argument http://fortune.com/2017/07/12/net-neutrality-fcc-google-facebook-netflix/

Well, if they have yet to determine what they want to change, the point is moot, until those decisions are made.  Like I said about the protest promo, looks like scare tactics.

The point is the ISPs would be able to determine what sites you could or could not access. They would give preferential treatment to their own properties or those they have deals with. It's a matter of freedom of information and equal access to emerging entrepreneurial efforts.

From what i understand this is taking it a little further than what Trump has already done. ISPs can now sell your info thanks to Trump. Kill netnuts and they can control what you can go to while cruising the web.

Verizon who owns Huffpo would love to control what people see and the powerhouse conservative media is all about controlling your beliefs.

Big money wins. Unfiltered access to info?? Hell to the na. Cant happen. Trump wants big money to control what info you see. Get on board broflake.

Federal laws saying you have rights to net access at certain speeds is Obama level bad. Open access to info? Wtf is this? A free nation or something?

Open to hear how restricting the free flow of information helps my country? Just explain beyond.. Trump wants to so its smart.

Yeah. Screw the internet. Screw information. If I don't understand it, must be bullsh1t propaganda. And F Obama too. Damn black guy with all his education. I want a fat bald impotent white guy with a limited vocabulary, just like me, to tell me what corporations should allow me to know and discuss.

Screw freedom. I have nothing nothing left and neither should my children. Freedom is for the birds
