I never understood why the Pirates aren't the most popular franchise of any sport in this country.  I hear so many people complain that athletes get paid too much, and at the same time there is this franchise that is constantly refusing to pay its players competitive wages and fans aren't lining up in droves to see their dreams come to life.

Why a man who can't afford to pay the salary of baseball players buys a baseball team, I'll never know.
