Short was cut - 6 time pro bowl DT
#1
The panthers cut Short to save 8 million in cap spacy, they ate 11 million in dead money.

Should Bengals sign Short and cut Geno? Both fighting through injuries.
Short should be cheaper option, but I hope Bengals get creative and keep Geno by agreeing to get him to take a huge pay cut.

Short has been less productive due to injuries for couple of years. He may be done.

Thoughts?

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

No way we should sign Short.

And this makes it more likely that Moton will be re-signed by the Panthers.

This exactly. This makes it even more important that we draft Sewell or Darrisaw or Slater.

Good teams find a way to keep their high quality O-linemen or atleast get a good return in trade. We have to spend draft capital to fix this line.

Moton will be resigned or tagged, no way they let him hit the market so I agree Fred.

I also agree no to Short unless a league minimum type deal with incentives.

I also think either way, we have to either cut Geno or get him to agree to a cut in pay. He is not worth his current contract and has not been for 2 years.

Wouldn't touch a 32-year-old DT who has played 5 total games the last 2 years with a 10-ft pole. (Unless we're talking a REAL cheap prove-it kind of deal.)

I'm also only seeing him as a Pro Bowler 2 times. Where's the other 4 from?

well Free Agency happens first... So it doesnt really change the fact we need to target OL in free agency just the target itself
