Jamaal Bowman, primaried...

Well, I suppose so. I guess what's certainly in play is that some of these people are not quite aligned with AIPACs goals and have a different take on Israel's actions in Gaza. Which I can't blame people for in principle - up to a point at least. Especially Ilhan Omar sure has crossed the line in that regard for me, possibly others too.

I would however agree in principle that one probably shouldn't just mention AIPAC without also mentioning that interest groups donating money to politicians is generally problematic, which I sure think it is, in any instance really.

As an aside, the next "man" up, Cori Bush, is now stating that AIPAC is a "threat to democracy."  Seriously, the Dems have really worn that taking point paper thin.

Anything or anyone that is against the Dem/Prog ideology/narrative is a threat to democracy at this point. Kind of stale. Just like all the lies and labeling people as ists, phobes, etc.

Careful now, else one of them might show up here and accuse you of judging them with broad generalizations.  Wink

Never mind that anyone who isn't fully supporting them is labeled "MAGA" and cast into the basket of deplorables...

More railing against AIPAC by far left Dems.

While I can certainly support limiting money in politics, it's just a little odd to me that the only PAC drawing the ire of these people is a pro-Israel PAC. Especially given the clear antisemitism of Omar and Tlaib

It's pretty odious, but trying to primary an opponent for a weaker candidate has been going on with both parties for a while now.  Not sure how you would separate or moderate that from perfectly legitimate support.  Nor do I oppose the other party contributing to someone they are more ideologically aligned with.  Although it does wreak of election interference when it's a primary.

Campaign finance money in general is a huge, toxic waste.  But it's all or nothing - if you're going to let powerful unions wield influence and contribute vast sums of money, then corporations and people with competing interests should be able to do the same.
