Should work ethic matter for POTUS voters?
#1
I admire work ethic. I think it is the backbone of the lower and middle class to get ahead. Should hard working voters reward great work ethic? Joe Biden has taken more time off in 3.5 years than any POTUS in history. He is off again to Camp David to prepare for a debate. Meanwhile, Trump was stuck in a courtroom for 6 weeks, yet still found time to campaign and spend time with voters.

Today, he is Wisconsin campaigning. Last weekend he was in Detroit trying to expand a base in Detroit a city Biden got 95% of the vote in 2020.

Is Biden working hard enough to show voters he is strong of body and mind? Or is he using the liberal media to prop him up. Sadly, he sounds his spokesperson out to lie for him all the time. Her latest is right wing media is editing footage of Biden making him look bad. Yet, it was at his own event we saw Obama needed to escort Joe off the stage. KJP is auditioning for CNN or MSNBC where bad lying journalists go to further their career.

Does Biden show the voters through his appearances he is capable to run this country for 4 + more years? Or is he showing people a vote for Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris in November?

I can't wait to see Jacked Up Joe at the debate. I can't wait to hear his stories of how Beau died in Iraq, how is uncle was eaten by cannibals and his many other whoppers. Will CNN do a fact check live on both candidates, or just scrutinize every word Trump says?

Biden has his shot to go toe to toe with Trump at the debate, get the popcorn ready, it should be interesting. He has started 10 days early to practice, so we should expect him to be outstanding and mistake free.

Biden hid out in his basement for most of the 2020 campaign, not sure that he'll be able to hide out like that as the sitting POTUS.

I wonder what kind of juice he will be on for this debate. I thought he did a couple of lines of coke before his SOTU. Wait... Didn't they find coke in the WH?

I wonder if the RNC's claim that Biden has been on vacation exactly one more day (382) than Trump's entire term is coincidence. When in reality the official White House number is 256.

Either way, using a completely subjective term like "work ethic" is an extraordinarily silly measuring stick to use. Especially considering Trump's proclivity for vacation. But, carry on.

Please.

Trump is addicted to the rallies. He had them as a "victory tour" after winning in 2016. That wasn't work ethic, that was ego.

Plus, he may not be able to travel, here in a bit . . . he needs to get as much coverage as he can if he hopes to stay out of prison. If he doesn't win, his other cases will put him away for life.

I don't think either of these guys are paragons of work ethic. But Biden isn't even mentally capable of it any longer.

That's an easy cop-out. Now, as far as the OP's original statement, I don't care about how much vacation a sitting POTUS is accused of taking. Why? Because it's nothing but a topic to try and slander him. A president is never on vacation. I don't care if he goes to Camp David or Mar-A-Lago. He's always working, just using a more relaxing office.

Sort of like your post. All you attempted here was to throw something in the conversation to demean Trump. Why? Because that's what this board has done for a solid 7.5yrs. I fear some are incomplete without holding onto the hatred that you do. So much that you turn a blind eye to the current POTUS because you don't want to be wrong. Worse yet, you can't admit that you're wrong.

Let's face it. Let's get real. You have the worst POTUS in the history of the United States sitting at the helm. Yet, you're willing to overlook all the creepy, criminal, destructive actions of him and his family, all because some guy said something about grabbing them by the P***y. Hardly ever have I read any of you left-leaning posters calling out Biden. You are so possessed with DJT, that your eyes don't see and your ears don't listen anymore unless it's propaganda and stories about Trump.

DJT may not be the right guy for the next POTUS. In fact, I know he's not. But, he's a better choice. Not due to age. I won't get into that because that seems like a lame argument. Although the concerns are there. But because of the failure. He's not good for America. He's never been good for America. He was only elected by the Trump haters. But even those voters care more about their well-being to make the same mistakes twice.

All the partisan rah rah rah aside, they're both too ***** old and feeble minded to be the president. These guys cannot be out best options for the job. I seriously can't believe that the train keeps rolling with the 2 of them. Republicans don't seem to realize that if they ran Haley or DeSantis, they'd beat Biden by a landslide. Democrats don't seem to realize it's ok to challenge an incumbent in a primary. So here we are watching two old imbeciles square off to determine which is the least incompetent person for the job... Our government sucks.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

He hasn't been for a while, not that you are arguing.

The scary part is that people see him like this and think it is okay to let him out in public, let alone the world stage.

Like these are his "good" moments.

Insane...

I think we have the politicians we deserve and it's the same for every country.

I agree Jason. We are stuck in this Trump/Biden thing as a nation. The fact that both of those candidates are, "our only choice," tells you what you need to know about BOTH parties. Neither care about America enough to put their own interests aside for what's best for the common citizen. The next POTUS will only be the face of the next 4yrs of "FU." But, we don't change, We defend incompetent leadership because it's a party pride thing, or because our fathers and grandfathers were die-hard suckers. Or because yadda, yadda, yadda. As kids, we were taught not to stick a fork in an outlet, or touch a hot stove. Yet, we do it every frigging election either local or national.

If the bible is 100% true, it's no wonder the real antichrist will slide into power so easily. People will finally be exhausted by the failure of those elected. WTS, not trying to turn this into a biblical discussion. I'm only making a point. We suck as a nation and we should demand more of not only one another but the leaders we choose. Not defend.

Dude who was going to be “too busy to golf because he would be working for us.”

Immediately started golfing and funneling tax payer money into his businesses. Visiting his golf courses something like 5 of his first 7 weeks on the job.

Believable.

I was just accused by a Republican of turning a blind eye to the faults of a candidate and only paying attention to propaganda. What kind of whacked out world do we live in?

Maybe I missed all of the cabinet members and staff alerting me to the dangers of a Biden administration . . . or did you turn a blind eye to all of those former cabinet and staff members trying to warn people with their heads still stuck in the sand about Trump?

All of you WHINING about prices after a badly mishandled pandemic while we're still the World Power . . . how do you think the prices will be when we're no longer the world power? Our sworn enemies want Trump to be president . . . Have you ever asked yourself why? If I'm a nation wanting to hurt the US, I'd be prepping my virus labs because half of the US believes meatheads like Joe Rogan over real scientists.

Here . . .  this is what you blindly support and this is after Trump made THEM richer, not you. I seriously doubt that there is anyone making a million dollars plus per year posting in this forum.

But yeah, Biden's old. I wonder how many of those laid off had a good work ethic?

Quit blaming us because your candidate is even more flawed. Quit being upset because we're trying to protect America from the least informed part of the population.

Was it only R aligned businesses that profiteered in this manner?

I believe they all did, buoyed by the profit results during covid.  They realized they would be allowed by the regulatory community to get by with minimal staffing, okaying minimal effort, and still turning a fair profit. So learning that, why would they increase staffing? They assume they can maintain the bare bones, working employees to the bone, and maintain even bigger  profit margins.

Corporate greed will always remain. Thinking otherwise is partisan nonsense. If you doubt that, check out the stock portfolios of members of the House and Senate.

Well done. Focusing us back on the larger context.

Good point about all the Trump appointees warning us of his unfitness for office--because half the country still can't figure that out after a coup attempt.

The bolded speaks to the importance of foreign policy, which isn't about handouts.

Yes--Trump is BFF with Putin, Xi, MBS, and Kim. How does his election help our democratic allies?

How does it help us if it weakens the current liberal international order?

Why is it considered vacation not to be in the office on Saturday and Sunday? I suspect if you compared schedules you would discover that President Biden has been far more active this month than a Trump has. Unlike a Trump, Biden has a job and he has been busy doing it.
But, I get it, Fox didn’t report it therefore it is all lies. The power of propaganda.

Trump spends an hour spouting the same speech he has been giving for 9 years, mispronouncing half his words, losing his train of thought halfway through a sentence, telling the same lies over and over again, saying a lot of words that don’t actually add up to a coherent thought and he is somehow a paragon of strength and vitality.

Trump will be a buffoon in the debate stage because that’s all he is capable of anymore. He brain can’t process original thought. He lives in the past with his grievances. And you all will declare him the victor because you are either too blinded or too afraid to admit your Emperor Has No Clothes

It's this type of of response that keeps America from the greatness she deserves. "I'll vote against my own self interest if it hurts people that don't look like me or speak like me."

My whole point of the quote from Robert Reich is that these companies can afford to be taxed more. They'll spend millions into think tanks to come up with ways to convince you that taxation is theft and communism. They'll point out all of these social safety net programs that are eating up the system when in fact, none of them would need to be cut without the exploitive and exclusive Bush and Trump tax cuts. Those companies have proven that they NEVER needed that money. One of the selling points of the tax cuts was the extra money that they were going to have to create more jobs. More GOP bullshit.

Did nt forget it is more than just taxes. As inflation took hold with rising prices these companies were raking in record profit. Luvnit likes to take the simplistic approach and blame the entirety of inflation on energy policy when in reality most of it has been driven by price increases post pandemic that went straight to the bottom line
