Well. The porn star slept with an old billionaire and TV show host in obvious hope for a gig. She then took money to keep silent and only reversed that decision when realizing there's way more money in telling the story. I might find understanding for these moves maybe, and sure I think that's on Trump in the end, but it is still a bit sleazy.

As for Avenatti, his method, while not ineffective, includes making claims and daring Cohen to refute them, also in open threats. He used Stormy to tease the public about revelations, he keeps teasing and hinting and takes every opportunity to appear on TV, he got in an on air shouting match with a Trump lawyer. I mean, that is sleazy. Never mind the fact he just looks like a lawyer that would appear in a porno :)

And yeah Trump & Co are sleazier. But still. Sleaze all around, I don't know why you would take issue with those words.
