You'll take any side of an argument solely for the sake of having one.  Maybe next time I start a thread about how I really like a certain pizza you can tell me all the reasons it's terrible.  Or if I talk about an Ipod you can remind how superior the Zune was. How were you damaged by this music?

When  you are in public people around you are allowed to laugh talk or listen to music.  Unless it is actually interfering with something you are doing you need to pull that big stick out of your ass and stop letting it upset you

Well I am not pulling the stick out of my ass. I deplore the general breakdown in civility which has occurred over the last 40 years. The guy was oblivious to everyone else's space/right to peaceful shopping.

These sorts always get an eye roll and a thought of "what the actual frack" from me. I used to run into them all the time on public transport when I lived overseas.

I cracked up when you mention the nice/not-so-nice Kroger in your neighborhood. The Kroger company must build nice/shitty stores in tandem, because I have the same situation near me. The wife and I jokingly warn one another about avoiding the shitty Kroger.

And, if memory serves, Jan lost nothing. Mike took the wrong tube with him. Or maybe Jan took the wrong one, it's been a while since I saw it. Regardless, she didn't lose the plans, it was a simple mix-up.

Wes ought to walk around with portable porn and sweat pants next time he goes Krogering.

You gotta fight strange with strange.

1.) The thing is, the not-so-nice Kroger used to be super nice.  It's not new but it's about 20 years old.  The store itself is fine.  But as soon as that side of the neighborhood went to shit that Kroger got worse and worse.  The newer "nice" Kroger is pretty amazing I must say.  Definitely a no-brainer to avoid the other one.

2.) I'm just going to assume it was Jan's fault regardless of the actual facts.  She was always screwing something up.  Didn't she cry one time because she hated her glasses and she thought she was ugly?  So she took them, and proceeded to ride her bike right into Mike's car.  Jan sucks. lol.  I'm glad someone caught that reference!

Well, we know Fred wouldn't mind.  He's got no stick up his ass like some of us (me apparently).  Talking, laughing, bringing a portable bluetooth speaker into Kroger, walking around with portable porn in sweatpants, it's all the same to him.  You just got to live and let live I guess. Smirk

I just wish people would get sticks outta their asses.

Why can't I crank my amp at 3am and play "epic" solos until the sun comes up?

Better yet.  Haul that baby onto my front porch and let'er rip!

I mean you can still do all of those things that you do.

You don't even have to leave your house.

I'm not hurting anyone.

It's great they don't make laws against that shit.  Ninja

I wont quibble with your overall appraisal of Jan.  However, she road the bike into the portrait of the kids that Mike had bought Carol for their anniversary.  Hilarity ensues.

Never knew there was such a thing.  Now I'm going to cause wrecks continually as I look everywhere for it but in front of me while driving.

True story, the first time my girl took me out to Cali to visit her dad we went into SF for lunch at the warf before heading to the airport to fly back east.  As we were heading towards the car we noticed there were Victoria Secret models in the street doing a shoot in front of the store in Union Station.  Her father and I threw tantrums when our ladies were making us leave!

You can't do that because it could interfere with other people trying to sleep.

Maybe I am just some sort of superman, but I have no problem grocery shopping while music is playing.  In fact many store actually play music in the background.  I wonder how Wes is able to function in those circumstances?

I deplore the people who think they control public spaces and everyone else has to follow their rules.

If the music was interfering with anyone's ability to shop then it should stop.  But I don't see how it was a problem.

Okay. I  was going extreme with it.  It actually falls into a nuisance law or ordinance... and that was the joke.

They do make laws against annoying acts.

I'm not saying something like shopping with a big Bluetooth speaker is law worthy.

However somewhere someone said "let's put an end to this shit".

Let me put together another scenario that would apply to your logic.

So I go to a fine restaurant.

They often play music there that's soft and appropriate for the atmosphere.

Along comes me that says F that!

I'm gonna bring my boom box in to my table and blast some Killswitch Engage because that's my jam.

Am I breaking a law?  Not really.

Just being a nuisance forsaking the other people in the place to my need for metal with dinner.

I would never do that because it's selfish and stupid.

The music obviously bothered some people.  If they asked the culprit to stop or complained to the management, would they be "making their own rules" to "control public spaces"?

So you prefer people that force everyone else to do what they want.  By blasting their music in a place its not needed or appropriate they are thinking they control the public space and everyone has to follow their rules or listen to their crappy music in this case...
