Tomi Lahren claims she’s “never seen a first lady be attacked” like Melania Truump

Tradition.

As they are not elected to an office they have had a role in some kind of social issues going back for decades.

Other than Hillary Clinton who wanted to be more involved in the actual politics.

Remain silent?

Support cyber-bullying?

It's like when her and the 1st lady of Spain had a conversation about children's welfare. She wasn't allowed to do so because of her husband's immigration policy.

Sorta like when his daughter was called feckless c...

These are individuals that should be judged on their merit. Not chauvinistically attached to their man at the hip.

They are.

Wow.  How shocking that a resident of the echo chamber can only think of these two possibilities.

How about she calls out her husband for being the number one promoter cyber bullying in the entire country?   Funny how a Trump supporter could not think of that option.  It is almost like some sort of "condition" is making it impossible for them to see the obvious. Wink

Ah. she did something health-related, right.

I just wonder, what if she'd chosen "respect for women" as her one topic instead. I imagine how she would have stood there, talking about men disrespecting women, using them for sex, betraying their spouse, and how this behaviour is condemnable and not acceptable for a man she or anyone should hold in high regard. Then she'd explain what a great president and person her husband Bill is.

Ah, metaphors are not my strong suit.

--- Also, stop giving wives of presidents roles. It really seems quite odd.

Can I say that cyber-bullying has to be one of the stupidest issues in America? Can I? Please?

Well, you do have the war on Christmas issue and the kneeling NFL players issue and the baker baking gay wedding cakes issue, so tough competition.

But sure, you can say that. It seems to boil up inside you. Let it out.

She had a hand in trying to get Universal Health Care ( in some form) introduced during Clinton's time in office...it's part of the reason the right hates her so much.  She didn't just take up a nice quiet social role like past first ladies and they think she's an evil socialist.

Of course they also think she and her husband have people killed on a regular basis, so take it all with a grain of salt.

I think the tradition is okay.  It's not like it's policy.

Hell, it's twice as many as you came up with.

I'm not saying you cannot dismiss FLOTUS' thoughts and ideas because of her husband's action; I'm just saying it's in poor taste IMO.

It's not trying to find a cure for cancer, but it is an issue that should be addressed.

At least only if some folks deem you "worthy' to address it. If not, they'll engage in the exact activity you're looking to address.

Hence why I said "ONE of" not "THE".  ThumbsUp

I am not dismissing her ideas.  I am just calling her the biggest hypocrite on the planet for taking a position against cyber bullying while at the same time supporting her husband who is the most famous cyber bully on earth.

No poor taste there.

No poor taste there.

And you're doing so on the internet. So you're cyber-bullying her for speaking out against cyber-bullying.

But of course you're dismissing her ideas. You're clearly saying she cannot have independent thought. As I said not all husband and wives agree on everything.

Ah yeah, like Seth Rich. He was DNC and got killed. What more evidence does one need to put Killary in jail?

And then claiming the left are the hyperbolic ones. The projections are strong and many. I know that has 100% nothing to do with the topic, but I felt like saying it anyways. Have you found Q yet?

It feels like putting an unnecessary celebrity element to the presidency, and it also feels like first ladys are pressured into something they do not want for themselves. If they want it, more power to them. When I see Melania, I see someone not wanting it, I do not hate her or attack her, I feel pity for her. Her husband just falls over payments to some of his probably various extramarital affairs and she has to stand there and tell the world how great everything related her husband is, even if he makes a mockery of her anti-bullying stance.

I don't know. That's just very American, I leave it at that. I don't even really know my leader's spouses, and I guess aside from France that's quite common.

I can agree with that.  I don't think when she married the very rich guy who thought she'd have all this attention on her.  Not that she hates attention, I'm sure, but it has to be like living under a microscope versus being able to pick when you are seen in public and how.

She may have felt pressured to do "something" like others before her so it didn't look bad for Trump?  I don't know.  But she probably isn't as comfortable with it as others have been in the past.

In all fairness, aren't we a few years (if that) away from Trump and Melania splitting and Trump's fan-club trashing her and praising the hotter, newer, less bitchy new wife he gets, while she spreads the news about what an arsehat he is and the left-wing accepts her as their trusted ally?

No.  I am not saying that at all.  That is just a talking point the echo chamber has trained you to use when defending Melania.

If the Donald was controlling her mind then the LAST thin she would take on as a cause would be cyber bullying.

Well, I suppose until that happens we'll just have to rely on the Trump hate-club trashing her.

Again, I have perused the mainstream media new sites, and I don't see them trashing Melania the way Fox News did Michelle Obama.

The simple fact you have to add "the way fox news did" to make any sort of feeble retort should be all you need to know. As I said: I was against it with Michelle and I'm against it now.

I think the only time I chimed in opposing Michelle was when she trashed the way Trump talked about women while having Rick Ross as special White House guest. I NEVER held anything her husband did against her.

I never said anything about your personal opinion.  All I asked about was where you see the mainstream media attacking Melania.

I am not saying you attacked Michelle, but you seem to know a lot about these attacks on Melania.  So where are they?
