Quote:Donald Trump has canceled at least three events this month.

On Monday, outlets in Colorado, Nevada and Oregon reported that Trump events set to go on in their states were canceled, though in Nevada and Colorado, Trump is still slated to attend fundraisers.

Trump was originally scheduled to make a speech on immigration in Denver on Thursday, but according to The Denver Post the speech has been postponed. The campaign said that his speech was "still being modified." Trump will, however, attend a fundraiser in Aspen, according to the Post.

Nevada’s KTNV also reported Monday that Trump’s Friday rally in Las Vegas was canceled, but his fundraiser in Lake Tahoe the same day is still on.
According to KTNV, the campaign did not give a reason for the rally cancellation. He is expected to participate in a roundtable in Las Vegas, possibly on immigration.

Both Colorado and Nevada are battleground states where Hillary Clinton leads in recent polling. However, a Suffolk University poll last week had her lead within the margin of error in Nevada.

Both a rally and fundraiser in Portland, Ore., scheduled for Aug. 31 were canceled, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting. The Trump campaign cited the Republican nominee’s trip to Louisiana last Friday as the reason his calendar has been changed, according to OPB.

Oregon is a reliably blue state, and critics questioned why Trump was even spending time there in the first place when he needs to make up ground in battleground states.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Strategic move, he's going to lay back and see if the latest dirt on Hillary grows any legs.

I'd agree that Trump NOT talking is his best move...except his new campaign managers made a big deal about the immigration talks he was going to give.  Now it looks like he wasn't prepared.

Especially since he's still doing the fundraising meetings...and still tweeting like a 12 year old.

From what I was reading, he's focusing on solid red areas now.

The latest Virginia poll had him down 19% head to head and 16% with 3rd party in it. He promised to turn blue states red, but he's turning battleground states blue and red states into battleground states. GOP officials have to put on a smiling face and say nothing is wrong, but he's setting the party back numerous election cycles. This election could have been a lay up with Rubio or Kasich, but they did this to themselves.

Just read his campaign released a new schedule today that shifts focus to battleground states. Probably a good idea.
