Trump picks Pence as VP

Immigration:

Mexican-Although he is for stricter borders he is in favor of a "guest worker" program. It is sort of like a poor man's H1b visa program. He is also about strict regulations against hiring illegals. I know many here have blamed the employer.

Muslim-  He opposed Trump's idea to ban Muslim immigration and called it unconstitutional

Education: Has consistently voted to increase funds to help those in lower income areas in fundamental education, but is opposed to the same funding for higher education (the point at which many here have said it is too late)

Government: Has voted no on bills that increase Congress salaries and is opposed to special interest donations to political candidates

Employment: Voted to increase unemployment benefits by 20 weeks. Rated 100% by CEI, indicating a pro-workplace choice voting record.

Taxes: Replace income tax with increased sales tax

He said he didn't want it to come "with strings attached" but was never able to explain what those strings may be.

After public polling showed huge support in his state for preschool funding, and with his approval ratings looking dim for his reelection bid, he said a month ago that he would be open to now seeking those funds.

I guess it's only worth funding education when it helps his political career.

Oh I zero doubt that the Left has many things against him; just pointing out where there may be some common ground.

I think his commitment, after his wake up call in 1990, to being positive is refreshing for a politician. His abhorrent remarks regarding the LGBT community aside, he seems like a decent person.

The entire thing was comedy gold.

His supporters are rabid...his detractors are just laughing.

One takeaway I got though is that Pence is shorter than Trump.  Probably done on purpose for the photo-ops.

Also is plan to allow church officials to speak without "fear" (of losing their tax exempt status) is hilarious.

And Trump had a prepared speech but ran away from it countless times to talk about himself and how wonderful he is.  If he has a speechwriter they can't be paying that person enough.

Trump's 6'2", so he's taller than the average male.

Can we talk about their logo? TP?

Haven't they pulled the logo, already? They couldn't handle the mockery.

Correct.

I don't think it made it 24 hours.

The new one (at least yesterday) was a giant picture of just Trump.

Looks like they photo shopped Pence in behind him now.  I suppose had The Donald stayed around a few seconds after his 20 minute speech about himself they could have gotten a photo together?

The article I linked goes into some of the advertising stuff behind such logos and how Trump's is really bad.

Except that now it's totally cool and awesome.

There's a big difference between the two statements.
The first is banning on grounds of religion, which is of course unconstitutional.
The second is banning by region, which is an acceptable and repeated practice.
