I have no problem with the hit but don't flag us when we do it back.

This is the terrible non-call that made this game get real ugly. Refs were inconsistent on this one w/ the one called earlier on us that looked about exactly the same.

That's helmet to helmet targeting or spearing or whatever you want to call it.  The lack of a flag on that play was sickening.

This is where the game got ugly. Everyone knew it should have been called. Fans were throwing shit, booing, and cursing the refs out. Hill and tez came off the bench to fight. It's so obious this is a personal foul. Dude knocked out Gio with an illegal hit and recovered a fumble and the announcers start off "This is why this is a legal hit" Gtfo.

Burfict runs his shoulder into someone and gets a 15 yard PF penalty against him. Refs blew it bad in this game. Fans and players are sick of it.

The way I understood it, anytime you lower your head and use the crown of your helmet it should be a flag. The end

lol at phil simms. probably hard for him to hide knowing how the league wanted that game to be won (with the reffing). I think the  newscasters are in on it too lol.

And the former supervisor of officials was on ESPN and said without a doubt it was a PF.  Should have been a first down Bengals and possibly first and goal.  At worst then a chip shot field goal.

The NFL is a joke. Helmet to helmet or face for that matter.

A game like this and the ump decides the game on a push.

This league has become a joke which pampers to certain teams, players and owners.

As I mentioned in another thread, it was made even worse with the dancing that took place soon after Gio laid motionless.

Article 8: Unnecessary Roughness
There shall be no unnecessary roughness. This shall include:
(g) If a player uses any part of his helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/”hairline” parts) or
facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily.

There's the rule. Unnecessary spearing, butting, or ramming with the helmet, regardless of the status of the other player, is unnecessary roughness. It's exactly what happened on that hit.

September 2013-

Quote:NEW RULE: A ban on a ball carrier initiating contact with the crown of his helmet in the open field or by a defender while making a tackle.

What the rule changes: A 15-yard penalty will be called if a runner or a tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players clearly are outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle-to-tackle and from 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team's end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or a tackler against an opponent would not be deemed a foul.

Seems pretty clear.

If that's the rule then Antonio Brown should have been flagged, not Vontaze Burfict.
