All depends on the situation. Too many variables to say what would happen in any given instance. Ideal situation, to me, since Article V doesn't discuss a new constitution so much as making amendments is that an amendment is passed to take that on. Effectively ending the current constitution upon the creation of a new and setting up the guidelines for such. But there are a number of situations that could occur.
