Who are your UDFA's 53?
#1
Tiger

Which of our UDFA do you have making noise or possibly the roster.

Here are mine:

Roster:
Javion Heiligh WR Coastal Carolina
https://youtu.be/q_Q3IZS_v60
A former track standout as a high jumper with the ability to win downfield. I think that his route running is the most undervalued part of his game. Great addition to the WR room.

Ben Brown C Ole Miss
https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2022/06/11/ben-brown-bengals-undrafted-free-agent-to-watch/
A power guy upfront that could be a steal!
This guy is very battle tested and I'm surprised that he didn't get drafted. The more offensive lineman the better!

Cal Adomitis LS Pitt
https://youtu.be/QIEkKgH_HJU
All things must come to an end and Clark has been exceptional in his role.

Makes Noise:
Jack Sorensen WR Miami OH
https://youtu.be/DZKBvapIhhs
I just believe that he'll raise some eyebrows with his route running and the way he goes about his business.

Practice Squad:
Carson Wells Edge Colorado
https://youtu.be/3zL1JhKB4ZE
I believe with his body of work at the collegiate level and what he shows in camp that he makes the squad in some capacity.

Lets look again at the new starting LG
Cordell Volson LG NDSU
https://youtu.be/P8Y6hVHADiw
He'll come in as a professional and push for that spot!

Who ya got?

I'm rooting for Jack Sorenson, WR to make the team. I want to will this into reality. His strengths at Miami were getting open and the deep ball.

First off Volson wasn't an UDFA.

Sorensen is 25 going into camp and WR's who run 4.7's don't usually make it in the NFL the majority of our backup WR's have a hard time getting open consistently to begin with. The other 2 UDFA WR's Kendric Pryor and Kwamie Lassiter who are legit 4.3 guys both run good routes and have very good hands and know how to get open have a good chance( Lassiter is a good PR too). OLB /pass rusher Clarence Hicks has a good shot because he plays good ST's and he can rush the passer and he can cover TE's( 4.4 LB's are not real easy to come by). I think Ben Brown takes Adeniji's spot on the roster. And I also think Shermari Jones has a good chance to take Travyon WIlliams spot. Delonte Hood CB will make the PS.
Jordan Wells will make the PS as well.

The safest bet is one of the WRs. We have a pretty solid roster with very few needs. I could see an OL, edge or DT making the cut as well if they have a good camp.

Which is honestly amazing given he's not fast at all. His ability to position and run good routes are why he's been successful.
He could be a Hunter Renfrow type where he has terrible speed but enough shiftiness and good route running to find ways to be productive.

If the Bengals had a WR4 that I'd be confident in handling WR duties if an injury happened to one of the Big 3, I'd feel Sorenson could compete with Thomas and Morgan for one of those WR5-WR6 spots.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins

Yes, he definitely isn't a burner. Didn't he push the 5.0 time for his 40? When watching him, he does seem to have good body control when he has to go get the ball. I've seen DBs tightly on him and he manages to twist and turn to make the catch. I am mindful though that this is mostly against MAC competition.

The reality is the back-end spots for LB, DE, WR, and TE all give an opportunity for an UDFA to make it.
The incumbents at all those spots aren't great by any means.
Definitely not much to worry about in terms of offensive/defensive impact.
With that said, these guys need to be able to contribute on ST, so that could be a deciding factor.

Wydermeyer was the guy who ran 5.01

Maybe Wydermyer ends up like Burfict.
Burfict ran a 5.09.
Completely horrible workout in every sense.
However, Burfict was rather solid when on the field (minus the after-whistle things).

Wydermyer has been a very solid, consistent producer in the SEC all 3 years.
I think he has a chance to still make some noise despite his terrible workout.

Ben Brown had as good if not better marks than Volson and so many are getting carried away that Volson is a possible savior at LG.

Trey Hill was the only backup C and we needed competition. A UDFA shouldn't be counted on for reps on a contender, but Brown could be a heck of a band aid if Karras is hurt.

I agree on Brown. If he shows out he could replace both Adeniji and Hill, IMO.

None make the final 53... a few might make the Practice Squad. mainly the Longsnapper.
