Who cares about free speech?
#21
1st Amendment free speech protections do not apply when it comes to illegal acts, or when you knowingly say something that isn't true. Same with 6th Amendment protections in conversations with an attorney. These protections go out the window as soon as crime is committed or conspired.

Generally speaking lying is still protected speech simply because mere satire can be construed as lying and often is. People often say things that aren't true.  LOOK! THE BENGALS WON THE LAST 10 SUPERBOWLS!
While most everyone knows that's a flat out lie it's perfectly legal. It's when the lies are told under oath and in the commission of crimes is when lies begin to head into illegal territory.. When you lie to government investigators you really step in doodoo..
