Whoopi displays TDS in effort to deny TDS

Was Donald Trump speaking directly to Whoopi and insulting her or was it Pirro?

No flaw with the analogy; as Whoopi didn't start slamming The Judge when she lost her shit; she started slamming Trump. I understand why you cannot see it.

bfine: Fred you have TDS

Fred: I'm tired of Trump!!!!

bfine: Never mind.

Jeanine Pirro did not act like the "rational adult" you're portraying in line one. Her comment was rather uncalled for, and also she doesn't get to look down at Whoopi the way your "rational adult" looks down to stupid Jimmy.
The judge was talking calmly to another host.

Should she have said it: No.

As I said, I noticed the sense of irony.

Yeah I have a question about that. It's a dull one, apologies in advance.
If Obama... yeah, it's that dull. If Obama, maybe out of drunkenness and/or a bad drug cocktail (all speculation) would had one day, after some really controversial summit with Putin meeting some pushback in the news, trotted out and had said something like "Never mind Putin.... FOX is the real enemy of the people!"

...wouldn't you have forever, till the end of days, lost your **** about that? In a way that there couldn't even be a debate about it?

I honestly wonder these things, because I would have (were I an American, that is, I'd be full ODS after that one). But yet, now there's a president who does that, and has done things similarly appalling to that repeatedly, and those who are still appalled by the appalling stuff are confronted with TDS comments and "Whoopi did something ridiculous and she represents the left"-threads.

Oh I know it's a lame thing to say, but if the shoe were on the other foot like described, and democrats would maybe be a bit snarky with Obama for half a day and then point to something allegedly stupid James Woods said the very same week and wouldn't care that awfully much, you'd feel like you're in the wrong movie here.
Now imagine that's how non-Trump tolerators feel more or less all the time, due to Trump doing as described and the reaction being as it is. Not everyone keeps his cool all the time in these conditions. From the outside, that's to be expected, especially when someone cuts an energetic woman off in advance by implying she has a mental disorder.

The first words out of Whoopi's mouth after the judge insulted her was "I don't have Trump Derangement Syndrome".

Why do you keep ignoring the fact that Pirro started it by insulting Whoopi?  What had Whoopi said that was "deranged"?  Nothing.  This whole TDS is nothing but a tactic by the right to shut down any debate.  That is the only reason they bring it up.  The Hannity cries about "the left" using TDS to shut down debate when it is the right who uses it.

So lets try again.

bfine: Fred you have TDS

Fred: I don't have TDS.  I just disagree with Trump and here is why.  .  .

bfine:  Why does the left always use TDS to shut down debate?

(07-20-2018, 03:44 PM)fredtoast Wrote: Actually I think Pirro was the one who exhibited the textbook use of "TDS"

Here is what happened

Pirro, answering a question about President Donald Trump's commitment to conservative ideology, ticked off accomplishments for which she credited the president, such as lower unemployment among African Americans. Co-host Meghan McCain chimed in to make a statement about his popularity among Republicans, but just as she was finishing,
Goldberg interjected, saying she had a question.

That's when Pirro appeared to mutter something about people having "Trump Derangement Syndrome,"
a term popular particularly on Fox for Americans outspoken in their criticism of Trump.

Here is what Hannity complained about happening

"I just felt like today was a microcosm of what is happening in America as the left suffers from this Trump derangement Syndrome, shuts the right down, doesn't allow you to talk," she told Hannity.

So even though it was Pirro who brought up TDS to silence Goldberg Hannity acted like it was the left using the term to shut down the right.  No need for facts or truth in the Fox News echo chamber.

I don’t think he’s saying they use the term to silence people, but get hysterical and don’t let others talk. At least that’s how it reads to me.

Whoopi did not lose her shit over Trump.  She lost her shit over being insulted by Pirro.  Pirro was the one who brought up TDS to silence any opposition from the left.  It is what the echo chamber teaches them to do.  Don't address the facts.  Instead accuse anyone who disagrees with trump of having a mental disorder.  I see Trump fans do it all the time.

Wow labeling someone to avoid discussing the facts. Where could the echo chamber have learned that one?

Except that is not what happened on The View.  Pirro and the panel were having a discussion.  There was some disagreement, but no one got upset until Pirro started insulting Whoopi by calling her "deranged".  At the point Pirro used the term what had Whoopi done that was "deranged"?  Nothing.

I’m not agreeing that Hannity is right in his assessment. I’m saying that he was saying they shut you down by being hysterical not by saying you have TDS

As I said The Judge should not have used the term.

Let's see if you are earnest: Did Whoopie respond in the exact manner to support the Judge's claim?

How did the judge claim that people would react when you insult them to their face?

I didn't really expect you to be earnest and answer the question posed. I fully expected you to ask another one.

Of course you did because you knew it was impossible for me to answer the question you asked without the information I requested.

Are people really acting like there's a thing called TDS? Lame. Was there an ODS or HDS?

In any other world, people wouldn't have to have a "disease" to not like someone like Trump, but Trump supporters try to attack those who don't like insecure, egotistical, cheating, lying, Russian sympathizing, Twitter trolling, bullying, con artists who pays off porn stars to the applauds of the "religious" right.

If not liking those characteristics in people is a disease then so be it. But it speaks more about those who don't have it then those who do. Hopefully we raise our kids to have TDS, but many don't which is why we are were we are now in American history.

Absolutely there were people who said people had ODS. But a lot of times they just called them racists.

Nah, it's from a decade plus experience on this MB. Answering questions is not your strong suit; asking them is.

But hell, let me answer your other question: In an irrational manner.

It's simply a yes or no. Did Whoopi behave in a manner that would support The judge's assertion?

I think you are pretending again.

Judge never said anything about how Whoopi would respond to being insulted to her face.  You are just making that up.

What you are trying to do is claim that Whoopi got upset at the mere mention of Trump instead of getting upset over being personally insulted.
and you are pretending that Judge Pirro said anything about how people will react to being insulted to their face.

If you mean the judge claimed Whoopi had the (imaginary) TDS and would therefore blame Trump for everything...no.

TDS (as described by his supporters) is a hatred for Trump and everything he does...but it doesn't mean one will yell and scream about it.

But your question is moot in that the judge had no idea what Whoopi was going to ask.  She assumed Whoopi would be attacking Trump.  Whoopi then defended her past attacks on Trump as she had been accused of something.

Should she have yelled?  Well it made her angry to be accused.  Maybe she should have calmly ignored the judge (they go low, we go high) but she did go low.

As you say, Whoopi apologized.

Did the judge yet?

I'd say that is the final word on this: One was accusatory and got yelled at.  One apologized and the other did not.

Like ANY of this matters...but it's good distraction for Trump supporters.
