Wow. That sucks. Jeffery will probably be franchise tagged meaning he is off the market. I was hoping to keep Marvin Jones, but being a passing league I can see a guy who will probably be considered the best WR free agent by many getting an offer he can't refuse that will be out of our range. He will probably get Torrey Smith money.

Alex Mack might be nice. Did he have an opt out clause or something? I thought he had a longer deal with Cleveland.

So did I. I'd sure take a long look at him.

He had the option to opt out after 2 seasons. Most are expecting him to take it.

How much will he command though?

He is already 30 and is seen as one of the top C in the game. He opted out of a contract where he was making nearly $8.5M a year and the market for top centers is moving up to nearly $10M a year.

Not to mention we have Gio, Dre, Eifert, and Zeitler all set to be FA in 2017 as well as the guys we need to resign for this year.

He'll most likely get a huge deal and become the highest paid center in the league. There's no way pay that. We prefer bargain shopping and using the draft. Mack is not on our radar.

This is true, and we should celebrate the fact that provided they keep Jones or draft a WR and keep Sanu.....the only real "need" is a backup C for insurance.  They like looking at cut vets so they don't count against compensation picks, but if they go for a cheap FA maybe a guy like Sendlein or Jones (in spite of being dinged up) for cheap is something they'd look at.  I think they're pretty set otherwise.

Too bad, it would make our team a sure SB contender IMHO.

Biggest frickin gaping hole is Center.

Of the other guys on this list i like Rishard Matthews with his speed if MLJ goes.

For the love of all that's holy...sign TJ Yates to a lifetime contract. Tired of losing to that douche.

I wish the Bengals would look into Alex Mack.  An upgrade at center and if he goes down we know Bodine is at least competent enough to start.

And they might as well grab TJ Yates so we can stop losing to that ************.

EDIT: YoungThunder beat me to it! LOL
Everything in this post is my fault.

Yea I'm pulling for Bodine to improve, but his game should improve.  This team is too loyal at times, but instead of expecting his game to improve they'll need another option at least as insurance behind him.  If they already had an average center in place, we as fans may be seeing him as a good young backup C/RG type that has potential.  I'd hope that if he were lapped by someone that he would take the demotion well.  On paper, I'd be very happy with a backup OL base of Fisher, Bodine and Winston.  I'd bank on them not "replacing" Bodine, or drafting a center by the mid rounds but having an ok retread to snap the ball for cheap is an important pickup.

I'd seriously consider signing Rishard Matthews over Marvin Jones..

Most likely cheaper and I think quite similar.

The Bengals won't jeopardize their potential precious 3rd round comp pick in 2017 and sign Matthews.
