Dude is a Whitworth clone in physique. Former Tight End so he’s got mobility. Holds Northern Iowa weight room records so he’s got strength. You want to see nasty? Watch his Senior Bowl practices.

RD 2: Tariq Woolen/CB/6’3”/205 lbs

The term “freak” gets thrown around quite a bit, but if a 6’3” 205 lbs CB that can run in 4.3s and arms longer than many OT prospects isn’t one; than I don’t know what is. If the kid grew up playing DB and went to a power 5 he’d likely be high 1st round. But this kid has only played DB for 2 years and went to UTSA

RD 3: Charlie Kolar/TE/6’6”/256

[Image: ghows-IA-030f10d8-9424-4ac4-9bb7-47c2298...&auto=webp]
You want another Drew Sample? Look elsewhere, this kid had 168 receptions for over 2,100 yards and 23 TDs while at Ames. He’s not the most flexible or fleet of foot, but with his size you don’t need to be. Who want another Mark Andrews? Look here.

RD 4: Kyren Williams/RG/5'9'/199 ibs

The new Gio. KW is a team captain that gives 100% on every play. Like Gio his strengths are pass protection and receiving out of the backfield. Also like Gio, he’ll never be a Bell Cow

RD 5: Thomas Booker/DT/6’3”/310 lbs

A quick interior olineman that could find success while Reeder does the heavy lifting

RD 6: Nick Ford/IOL/6’5”/317 lb

There was a time when this dude was in 2nd rd conversions; yet he’s fallen hard and I don’t know why. Moving him around the oline hasn’t helped. He has started at every position on the oline in his college career. I like Nick more than most anyone as a prospect; of course I felt the same way about Trey Smith last year. He went in the 6th round.

RD 7: Britain Covey/PR/5’8”/ 170

The Bengals love to have a small white WR returning punts and this dude checks all blocks. He returned 29 punts for 427 yards and 2 TDs last year.

7: Jordan Stout/P/6’3”/205 lbs

Taking a PK last year paid off. Let’s get one of the premiere punters coming out. Can place kick in a pinch.

Nice mock! I love Kolar. He’s been a beast for them for years. Every time I turn on an Iowa State game he jumps off the screen. He’s the TE I really want in the draft.

Think Scherff will go for quite a bit more than $13 mil/yr unfortunately but you could still probably make that work with the cap you have there.

Penning would be a great pick at 31 but I’d be nervous going into the draft with that huge hole at RT

Covey absolutely KILLED my buckeyes in the bowl game. When a guy has a game like that against a team as talented as OSU he’s got a great chance at being a steal late in the draft

I've been driving the Trevor Penning bus forma while now. He is my favorite Offensive Tackle in the draft class. Guy is just mean spirited if he gets his hands on you he wants to punish you I any way possible.

If he falls to 31 it will be because he isnt there technically and he's not. Penning struggles with his angles, landmarks, and hand timing in pass protection... but I think every offensive line coach in the NFL looks at Penning and thinks I can work with this guy.

Perhaps right on Schreff, but Sportrac puts it at $12.9

I absolutely love Darian Kinnard and I think folks will have their eyes opened after the combine, but Penning is similar in size and demeanor but has better movement skills.

I'm curious, why did you go with him over Araiza? People make this dude out of SD ST. sound like a future Punter HoF. In your mock, was he already gone?

Nice mock draft. I would absolutely take Penning at 31 if still available. Seems like his stock is on the rise and he may go top 15 now but certainly would like it. Woolen in the 2nd would be another good pick. Kolar gives us a Tight End that can help now but also be here when Drew Sample exits a year from now.

Later round guys I liked in this mock are Booker at DT and Covey at WR/KR/PR. I think both guys contribute with Booker getting some rotational snaps and Covey mainly as our return specialist.

Great mock. Offensive line got the boast it needed as well as TE. Multiple captains picked here which will likely be the case.

PENNING- Most likely took himself out of Pick 31 conversations. Dude could be the 3rd OT taken

WOOLEN- I disrespected him when I said he had 4.3 speed. Why did they move this kid from WR? 6'4" with a 42" vert and 34"

Yeah, when I first looked at this I could tell it was early with the picks and then looked at the date you started this mock.

Penning won't be there and Woolen might even be an early 2nd round pick now or maybe we even look at him at 31 now
if we take care of the OL in FA. Get a RT in Free Agency has to be essential to us right now with the way the Draft is looking
to shake out.

Dane Brugler has Trevor Penning going #6 overall to the Panthers and Charles Cross going #7 to the Giants. Four Offensive Tackles in thr first 7 picks lol.

Bengals took Tyler Linderbaum at #31.

Great mock, would like to see this draft. Especially the TE out of Iowa State.

I don't know much about the CB, but I like his height. We all know Lou likes tall CB's as well.

Because the PSU punter has a faster 40 or because I think Araiza will be long gone by the 7th round.
