Would of rather done a 2 year deal but this is good news. Opens up the Draft quite a bit.

This is good news to me.

Back him up with a good OT prospect, as well as the young OTs we have in our room already and we have a lot more potential than we had last year.

Still need to address OT and G/C in the draft in my opinion.

Need more young, quality prospects for the future.

Will have to see how the draft falls though, they can't continue to reach for need or they'll continue to swing and miss.

Just heard, good news, this opens up the Draft, like I said would of rather had a 2 year deal with him, but maybe the team didn't
want to risk anything with his problems in New England and they want to get to know Trent better before extending him longer.

Orlando is now the smaller starting tackle.  Mellow

This is a big save. Even if he only gives you half the season he buys time for a top 3 rd rookie. That or maybe even enables a rookie to compete at LG if they can play both, as we know they'll take a tackle at some point. This had to happen.

Great news! Our biggest hole is now has someone filling it. Not having a good NT may suck but you can still work around that. Not having an offensive line will lose you (more) games and get your QB killed.

with his Injury history etc...  This is a good Prove it year for T Brown.... and gets to hit the market again next year

Kinda hard to follow that "logic".

I guess its the same "logic" people use wanting to sign Trent Brown knowing his injury history but say we need to move on from Reader because he is injured too much.

Burrow has also had two season injuries the same year Reader did.  Should we move on from Burrow?  What it comes down to is the injuries vs what the player can bring if healthy.  Burrow is one of the top QBs in the NFL so you have to take a chance knowing his injury history because what are you going to do without him.  Reader is one of the best run stopping tackles in the NFL so it would be hard to replace him.  Trent Brown is good but certainly not on the level as Burrow or Reader at their positions when healthy.

Yes, good move the more I think about it just doing a 1 year deal and it helps to prepare our new RT of the future we draft.

I would have liked to have seen a 2 year deal as well where only the first year was guaranteed.  There would be no reason for the Bengals not to do that so Im guessing the 1 year deal is from Brown's agent

BOOM!

I had my doubts that this would actually happen but our front office keeps surprising me!

Burrow finally has some protection and will destroy defenses! An MVP-caliber year is on the way!

Take Bowers in the first round!

I need to get over to Hard Rock to place bets on the upcoming season!

Hope the plumbing issues have been addressed.

Good move. We just need him to hold it down long enough to get the rookie up to speed. If we get a full year out of him, even better.

The old Bengals way would have signed Becton and sold us on the reclamation project.

One year. Perfect. A one-year prove-it deal. One or two years was fine by me. It takes a great deal of pressure off and opens up the draft.

If he can stay fit it’s one hell of a signing.

The attitude issues don’t worry me I’d be acting pissed off if I’d have been in New England the past couple of years too.

We better still be picking a RT at 18 if one falls to us in the draft though.

Good move.  RT still a draft priority, but this signing does ease the pressure to take one at #18 if they don't particularly like the choices.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Nice! They still take OT at 18 but this lets them work the new kid in over the course of the season.
