I am intrigued by the options at Corner even though it isn't an immediate need there still is a looming question about what happens next year with Dennard on a one year deal. LB obviously is a need, I am okay with Mack Wilson at 42 as I don't think he makes it back around. The kind of elephant in the room though to me is the just massive amount of WR talent available right now. AJ coming off an injury and being more injury prone while banking on Ross to step up seems like a recipe for a letdown. With some legit #1/#2 options on the board I have to wonder if the Bengals have their eyes on a WR either in the 2nd or 3rd round.

What typically happens in this format is teams trade up to the Top of the 2nd Round to get their guys.

But, wow - Greedy Williams or Metcalf would be pretty sweet.

Greedy Williams, CB.
Cody Ford and Jawaan Taylor OT's.
DK Metcalf or AJ Brown at WR.
Irv Smith TE.

We do need a LB, but I hope we don't reach. I'd be pretty happy with any of the above really. Metcalf and Williams would have the most star power of the picks.

I would grab Lock if he slides to us. He can sit and learn from AD for a couple of years with no pressure. I think Lock may end up the best QB in this class.

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

I'm thinking CB first in the second round, then if you like Mack Wilson you can try to package some picks to move back into the 2nd later to grab him.

I wouldn't hate getting another offensive lineman but I think they have enough holes elsewhere that I'd rather grab something else.

Would you go best available or only if Greedy Williams is still there?

Ideally yes, but they are rookies and it will take 2 seasons to be NFL caliber  Ninja

I want us to pickup Benny Snell in the later rounds.

I don't care about his draft measurables. I know he has the speed range of a Walter Peyton. In the 4.6 range, but I couldn't care less about that.

The quickness and burst of the Bus for the Steelers.

I saw this man win games where the QB was non existent.

Seriously, they faced Mississippi State who was ranked 14th in the nation at the time. The QB went 8 of 14 for 71 yards and a pick.

They put 11 men in the box almost every single play to stop one man. That man Benny Snell went on 25 carries for 165 yards 4 TD's and 6.6 yards a carry.

Against Vanderbilt, they did have 11 man in the box every single play. The QB went 3 of 9 for 19 yards.

Benny Snell went for 32 carries, 169 and a TD.

Eventually the OC decided that since these teams are putting 11 man in the box, why don't we try going deep some.

The QB Terry Wilson did much better in the 2nd half of the season than he did in the first.

Still in yards per game (151) they were 120th out of 130 teams.

I understand why scout's have him ranked were they do, but to get a short yardage back in the 5th round that can complement Joe Mixon would be very nice.

Also their TE CJ Conrad is very underrated. 6'4 249, runs in the 4.6-4.7 range. Probably jumps in the 33' to 34' range. Is fairly strong and does about 21-23 in the bench press.

These would all have been top 10 in measurables for TE's, but he never had a QB that could truly utilize his skills and a heart condition at the combine kept him from participating in the drills.

I think he was medically cleared, but if someone takes a flyer on this kid in the 6-7 rounds or a camp invite even. There gonna realize this guy probably should of been projected to go in the 3rd-4th round.

I'm not saying he's gonna be a world beater, but he's a guy to take a chance on.

It's some guy's to look at in the later rounds.

I'm not going to pretend that I know much about a lot of these guys (I spent most of my time reading up on our first round targets), but from what I've read about the CBs still out there I'm not even sure Greedy's the CB I want.

Byron Murphy - "ball hawk", "might have the best ball skills of any DB", "flashes the ability to lower the boom on the ball carrier"
Greedy Williams - "above average ball skills", "below average run defender"

There's probably plenty of people who can tell me why Greedy's better than Murphy, but at the least I don't think he's the only guy I'd consider.

Totally agree.  If these two are available late, they should jump all over them.  Conrad came up huge in UKs win over Mizzou.....even caught the game winning TD.  Snell is a pounder.....talk about upgrading over Walton!

We pick 10th, but could move up or down, so here is my top 15 board:

1. Drew Lock (QB)
2. Ben Burr-Kirvin (LB)
3. Hakeem Butler (WR)
4. J. Taylor (LT)
5. AJ Brown (WR)
6. DK Metcalf (WR)
7. Dalton Risner (RT)
8. Greedy Williams (CB)
9. Byron Murphy (CB)
10. Zach Allen (edge/dt)
11. Paris Campbell (WR)
12. Cody Ford (OG)
13. Irv Smith (TE)
14. Deebo Samual (WR)
15. Rock Ya-Sin (CB) name alone, how can you go wrong with a Rock on your team

I would be happy with any of these 15 in round 2

I normally focus a lot on needs but that wide receiver AJ Brown looks like a steal to me.

He is 6 foot 1 and around 225 pounds and ran a 4.49 forty.

75 catches for 1,252 yards in 2017 & 85 catches for 1,320 yards in 2018 at Ole Miss.

Hard to tackle with some power & speed.

Not sure the Bengals will get a shot at him in round two without a trade up but if he slides I wouldn't mind getting him.

AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, AJ Brown with John Ross sprinkled in and I would let Ross leave once his rookie contract ends.

** Other early round 2 players I like (in no particular order)

Jawaan Taylor-OT
Cody Ford-OT
Greg Little OT
Irv Smith TE
Rock Ya-Sin-CB
Greedy Williams-CB
Byron Murphy-CB
Dre'mont Jones DT

*** Round 3 Germaine Pratt LB

We need a DT and a LB, no good ones at the top of the second. I’d take Irv Smith if he’s there, otherwise looking to trade back with a team that wants one of those WR or CB.

Taylor is dropping due to knee issues.  I think the backers that they are targeting will be available in round 3-4 (the two kids from Notre Dame), Burr-Kirven, maybe Wilson.

I guess Drew Lock is possible.  I'd rather take one of the stud WR or DB (can never have enough DB) and take Stidham in round 4.

Irv Smith, Jr. TE is possible.  Bengals cannot rely on Eifert to be healthy, it is what it is.

The kid that is intriguing is Butler.  He is huge, runs 4.5 40 and carries 230 well.  Like a mini TE.

So I guess the rumor is true that Mack Wilson didn't interview very well at the combine.

I was told some teams have him off their board due to an "incident" but didn't get more info on it. Will be interesting to see what happens with him tonight.

There have always been some questions about character of guys down at Bama. I think Saban keeps a lot in house.

Jachai Polite might be worth a look. Slipped due to some poor interviews but he's a beast off the edge.

Yeah...I feel like that's where I'm at. Greedy is a name that people recognize so they'll be happy with it.

I think IF we get one of the guys projected in the 1st that fans will be happy.

How many times do we see guys projected higher that fall to our pick only to pass on them though? That happens a decent bit for whatever reason.

I kind of like the idea of taking a 2nd Tackle. It's not a huge need now, but man does it appeal to me for some reason just because of how bad our line has been.

I'd also be open to going WR. I know people don't think it's a need and maybe it isn't a pressing one, but man we could have a dynamic offense.
