***Official 2020 NFL Draft Thread***
Clearly they have another plan for the Oline - baffling to me. 30 OLinemen picked so far, and with probably one of the worst 3 or 4 olines in the league, we don't take one. Looking forward to hear ZT discuss why they passed on taking a single OL.

It wouldnt be draft day without them passing on a Bengals pick for a commercial.

I’m not gonna complain too much about a fifth round pick considering the offseason we’ve had. Hopefully they see something I don’t in him. Most players you’re getting at this point won’t be contributing as starters this year anyway

Not just Lamar Jackson. Pretty much every offense that wanted to run just ran all over us for at least the past two seasons. This rebuild was overdue.

I swear it seems like they are drafting  just to beat the Ravens next year.  The way the chiefs beat the Ravens is to set the edge and force Lamar Jackson to run in the middle

Kareem is another team captain added to our defense.

Quote:He tied for the team lead with 5.5 sacks among his 46 total stops (10 for loss) as a senior. Kareem also led the Irish with three forced fumbles in his final season.

He's 5th rounder. Not bad.
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Well Kareem will most likey make the team. We only have 3 EDGE players.

Yeah but like espn didn’t even show it. I’m watching and Dallas trades up and then everything goes off and they come back and the Seahawks are on the clock.

Brugler as Kareem rated as the 11th best DE. Ahead of Okwara and Darrell Taylor who were high picks.

If you notice the theme through free agency and now these Defensive picks..its TACKLING which seems to be Kareems forte' and setting edge.
Lets hope the strategy pays off...I still cant imagine not signing a legit RT after this. Need to keep Burrow standing up ....that should be priority #1 this season.

Sorry, but I’ll take the word of the guy who has season tickets to ND. He said the pick is awful, which is not encouraging.

Probably another bust like Jordan Willis.

Yeah, I'm concerned about the line too. Especially at RT. Maybe FJ will start and upgrade it. I would surely feel a lot better if we added Jason Peters though.

I don't typically trust the Bengals' hype on new players cause I think it's used as an excuse to avoid FA, but based on how they made a great effort in FA this year, maybe their belief that Jordan really developed at the end of the year is genuine. Given another off-season and training camp ( hopefully), maybe he becomes an average to above average guard this year. Or even better.

Lance Zurlein compared him to Kerry Wynn in his combine write up.

Who is left out there that you rate as good prospects? Any potential starters still out there?

For what is worth or not CBS gave Kareem pick an A-. So far for the Bengals the lowest grade they have given the picks is a B- for Logan Wilson. All the other picks have been in the A's.

There are some who are describing the Bengals' last pick as having lead pipes for hands. That's a good thing.

On one level I do see the case for Kareem - everyone ran all over us the last couple of seasons and a major reason was we were completely unable to set the edges (as mentioned upthread). After a Free Agency where we poured out money on new starters up and down the defense who all are good tacklers addressing the edge setting was only logical.

That said, OL is still a big problem.

Yes it is. For me to not like a pick from ND is not a good thing. Also with us going more 3-4 this pick makes zero sense. The guy is a run stopper that plays like he has 40lbs of shit in his diaper.

ESPN didn't show it on the TICKER!!! I had to change the channel to find out the pick!  That's BS
