He's not super athletic. But he's smart and solid.

Very productive in coverage.

49ers got a kicker with a snazzy moustache.

Why don’t we let the men who have developed a Super Bowl worthy roster continue to do their thing.

Instead of criticizing ever move notwithstanding that most people have no clues about many of the issues surrounding many players.

If the bengals had any interest in Washington they would not have traded down. It’s not rocket surgery.

Murphy was a good add and a big talent. Wasn’t the biggest need but it was A need. But using the 2nd and 3rd round picks on DBs, both unspectacular, after taking a busload of dbs last year is silly. I don’t get it.

A C+ grade, at best.

You don’t get stocking up on DB’s in the modern NFL? Did you enjoy watching guys like LaShaun Sims and Darius Phillips play a significant amount of snaps?

Who would you have taken is the question? I know my answers...

We needed a 3 down End that can slide inside on passing downs, needed a versatile shutdown Corner for when Chido and Mike leave
and Battle has a much higher upside than Nick Scott and could be the future next to Daxton Hill.

I love great Defense, hate bad Defense on the Bengals. Pay Burrow, the OL and the weapons and Draft studs for Lou seems like a SB
winning plan to me.

UGA played mostly 12 Personnel, which is 2 TEs. Washington was, by far, the 2nd receiving option between the 2 starting TEs. He is primarily a blocking TE.... who was taken off the board by  many NFL teams due to injury concerns.

Agree, and I liked him. Ts, I trust the staff more these days and so far I like all 3 picks. RBs and a 3rd string TE will be available.

But, I cannot dispute the fact we could use another higher end S. Do we think Anderson or Thomas is the casualty? Thomas probably. Love to jeep him on the PS and mentor the young guys.

I doubt they give up on Anderson after trading up for him last year.

RE: ***2023 NFL Draft Thread*** - Murdock2420 - 04-29-2023

The more they talk about Washington's injury concerns, I'm not sure why anyone on this board would want him with the history the Bengals have with drafting injured guys.

This looks more like they dodged a bullet.

They are sticking to their plan. Going to need to pay O stars. Need young D players on rookie contracts over the next couple of years.

They clearly didn't see any TE or RB at #92 they felt deserved the pick and added a very solid player who they know can contribute. There are several good RB candidates in Rd 4 range and clearly they aren't as concerned about TE as many in the fan base.

It's almost like we need pass rush and DBs to compete with the QBs in our conference.

Also yea we drafted some DBs last year and lost both starting safeties, a starting CB, and our top CB is coming back from major injury.

But sure why would we want DBs?

We don't know the medicals with DW either. We want our rookies ready to go unlike in the past.

The stealers might be falling into that ole way we used to be hopefully.

I mean was Aaron Hernandez bad because he was the 2nd TE behind Rob Gronkowski?

RE: ***2023 NFL Draft Thread*** - THE PISTONS - 04-29-2023

When you pick 28th...you don't generally get sexy picks. That's reality.

RE: ***2023 NFL Draft Thread*** - Bengal Dude - 04-29-2023

Going this heavy on defense definitely makes it seem like they'll get an extension done with Tee.

RE: ***2023 NFL Draft Thread*** - MasonDT70 - 04-29-2023

Also 9ers taking a K in the 3rd is wild. Been a fairly crazy draft like many thought

Seriously. After 2024 the defense has 8 players under contract. Only 5 of them are starters.
