You can start showing respect for the profession by using "your" and "you're" in a sentence correctly like any educator should be able to do. Gym teachers, transgenders, tall people, short people, etc. Except physical education teachers had to actually gain the advanced knowledge for their profession. The others on that list were either born with it (tall or short) or have a mental health condition (transgenders). Either way neither is the same as actually putting in the work to gain the necessary knowledge. You respect those who put in the work. Do you prefer triggered? Have you ever seen anyone tell a soldier rendering honors to the flag by standing at the position of attention while rendering a hand salute to show some respect? Yeah, me neither. No one, not even your character, tells anyone showing respect to show respect. Telling someone to show respect only happens when the triggered individual detects disrespect which is what triggered your response. Quote:If anyone wants to call them gym teachers then so be it.... would be the same as calling you advanced candy striper. Yeah, except a gym teacher and a physical education teacher are both teachers with the same education level, qualifications, fill the same position, perform the same duties, and according to you for the same salary. Whereas a candy striper and a Physician Assistant have different education levels, qualifications, positions, and duties for different salaries. So not the same at all. Advanced knowledge of rolling out dodgeballs and turning on the kids bop version of 'My House'? Come on. The hardest time for a gym teacher is beep test day because sometimes the app screws up. Not comparative to a transgender cashier who has to put up with someone taking cheap shots to inflate their own self esteem. Or someone who has to shop in the children's section to find cloths that fit. Etc, etc RE: California: Jail Time Possible For Pronoun Misuse - StLucieBengal - 10-17-2017 (10-17-2017, 10:51 AM)Benton Wrote: Advanced knowledge of rolling out dodgeballs and turning on the kids bop version of 'My House'? Nice of you to disrespect a whole field of teachers who put in the work to gain the knowledge and follow the NASPE standards. What’s funny is that you seem to be upset whenever anyone makes a “blogger” out to be a journalist yet you have no problem disrespecting this profession. As for your terrible attempt at a shot on the ***** cashier. If they didn’t want a reaction they wouldnt have presented themselves in such a ridiculous manner. And you know that I could care less what these people think or feel. I at least had the decency to not call him ridiculous right there, although it was warranted. He was rocking Sally Jesse Raphael glasses. And those who shop at the kids section......there are a lot of options to buy clothing. Amazon keeps someone from having to wander around the juniors section. Which is the point. I don't have a problem with gym teachers. I also don't think I'm any better or worse. Because I have respect for them. Same with transexual cashiers, tall people, short people, gays, math teachers, garbage men, office managers, women, blacks, physicists, carpenters, ugly people, movie stars, shoe salesmen, Catholics, muslims, porn stars, crack heads, kids, old people, homeless people. I encourage everyone to have respect for other people. None of us are any better than anyone else. And the world is only going to get crappier the more we try to elevate ourselves because of our job, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. RE: California: Jail Time Possible For Pronoun Misuse - StLucieBengal - 10-17-2017 (10-17-2017, 12:02 PM)Benton Wrote: Which is the point. P.E. teachers are skilled and educated in physical education and athletic training. Gym teachers are knowledgeable about the human body and a wide variety of sports including basketball, gymnastics, football, baseball, tennis, and aerobics. That's from teacher.org. Seems actual teachers aren't triggered by not using your preferred nouns.
