I've been a Bengal fan for decades. I'm more used to "rebuilding" than winning. Five straight year of playoffs were just a crueler form with the 1st round destructions.

Straight up clinical masochism. I don't like needles or razors (eew!), so I just consume as much Bengals football content as possible. You can easily self-harm without anyone asking you about scars or scabs. If I'm feeling good I just search 2005 or 2015 AFC Wildcard games and t brings me right back to where I like to be.
Keeps me disciplined and grounded, really.

I'm lying, though. I refuse to watch any of those games when they are replayed. I remember them all vividly enough, anyway.
Sad as it may be, I really don't even look at the friends I went to the 2015 WC game with the same as I did before. It's like we all just saw some bad shit and there's no need to revisit it.

If you want to look for improvement on this year's free agents, you have to check the daily injury reports. Might see Alexander improving on there soon and maybe XSF by week 9. Probably no Reader or Waynes until next year though.

If you ran a football team wouldjarather....
A. Be the only team in the league that gets 13 downs to get 10 yards instead of 4
B. Have a bumper pool table in the team clubhouse

I watched for about 20 years consistently. After the playoff meltdown vs Pitt with Pac-Man and Burfict I quit consuming the televised product. I follow the team from my phone on the train or while taking a dump at work and at least I’ve found better things to do with my Sunday afternoons. I don’t owe this team anything, neither do you, watch something else or enjoy a hobby.

Right now, I can watch simply because of Burrow.
Before Burrow got here, well I live in Seahawks country so I could at least watch their games. Honestly, it was hard to care about the Bengals after the playoff meltdown.
