Are they saying that Lawson created all 17 of the sacks? There's 13 teams with 40+ sacks. Just seems really improbable that Lawson was responsible for "creating" top-10 sacks.

Regardless of what the extension is, you still have the player for $14m less in Year 1. That's $14m out of the Ravens current $29m in cap space.

Why wouldn't the Ravens want us to get better? Maybe knock off the Browns or Steelers once or twice.

They are saying his initial pressure forced sacks for other players. It isn't really that big of a surprise Lawson was the only defender that forced consistent QB pressure on the team.
