Both sides are awful. Neither one has the common folks best interest in heart. Both side just want more power. I have criticized Trump plenty. He's a lying politician (redundant) who talks like an idiot. I have never hesitated to say otherwise. That doesn't mean I have to go "DERP DE DERP! TRUMP IS HITLER! Both sides can spin.  Trump is a master liar.  He's made a career out of it.

It's not breaking a campaign promise...it's flat out making stuff up.  Or, worse, repeating things he saw on television as fact.

He's an idiot.  We agree.

Policy differences aside I'd rather have a non-idiot as POTUS.  I've voted both Democrat and Republican for POTUS.  The person has a lot to do with it for me along with their policies.  I'll always go for the more moderate of their party...but no idiots.

RE: Trump impeached? You bet! - xxlt - 03-22-2017

Regarding which is more disturbing, Our President's character or his policies, here are a couple of takes:

This one is from November 2016 and focuses more on character

These from this month focus on policies:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/german-reporter-who-grilled-trump-is-hailed-at-home/2017/03/20/6435c7b2-0d78-11e7-aa57-2ca1b05c41b8_story.html?utm_term=.ab74904a1bad

I think Our President is a colossal failure as a human being (but rich!) and a horrible President who has no understanding of the function of government or the Office he occupies. I really didn't think I needed to clarify that, but there you go. By contrast George Bush the elder was a decent man who understood the function of government and the Presidency. He was a disaster for America in many ways, but it wasn't as a result of being simply a horrible man and willfully ignorant. I guess it just goes to show the trouble with normal is it always gets worse, but hey, at least it doesn't have a vagina.

Another nattering nabob of negativity, this one a former Clinton cabinet member, weighs in:

From Facebook:

Robert Reich
1 hr ·

The noose tightens. New information about former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort links him ever more directly to Putin.

According to the AP – based on authenticated documents -- Manafort was paid to boost the interests of Russian Putin. This wasn’t just in Ukraine but in all the former Soviet republics. Starting in 2006 and lasting at least through 2009, Manafort received $10 million a year from Russian aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska, described by U.S. intelligence officials as one of Putin’s closest allies, to tip the scales in favor of Putin in former Soviet republics.

We don't know what techniques Manafort used, but this sounds like the same kind of enterprise Russian operatives engaged in during the U.S. presidential election of 2016 on behalf of Trump.

Takeaway: It’s becoming less and less likely Republicans in Congress will want to wait until the 2018 midterms – and a finding by U.S. intelligence agencies that Trump or his associates collaborated with Russian operatives in throwing the 2016 – before moving to dump Trump. By that time Trump’s presence in the White House could mean vast GOP losses.
At the rate things are going now, I’d wager that congressional Republicans will find a way to impeach him within the year.

What do you think?

I won't say within the year, but I have already made it clear I think he won't make four years.

Adding to the intelligence scandal is his inability to work with his own Congress as his polls drop to historic lows for a president in his honeymoon phase with Congress.

The weekly unforced errors continue to add up. Publicly Republicans will want to speak of Trump's "style" and new way of doing things which by god won him the election, but privately they see the liability of a president who cannot come to Congress with close knowledge of the bills and policies he is supposedly stumping for.

It is possible that serious foreign policy misstep which costs American lives will be the catalyst. He hasn't been talking about ISIS lately, and he promised he wouldn't telegraph any strikes. Something maybe in the offing there, or he may want to force something that Mattis and the DOD resist--another fail.

I am still puzzled that so many people think that if their team doesn't make the playoffs every year, then they couldn't do any worse by hiring a head coach who has never played or coached football, but was really great as director of the stadium concessions.  If he is making bad trades and replacing good offensive and defensive coaches with friends and family, and engaging in late-night tweet wars with angry fans and players from other teams, we still need to wait till the season actually starts before we criticize him. Some even speak as if he'll not only last out his contract but get a four year extension because he keeps saying they'll be so tired of winning . . . .

Maybe this will end the "we need to run the country like a business" talk from  most people.

My extremely conservative boss and I were talking yesterday and I mentioned that Pence will be hard to beat in 2020.  He asked why and I explained that this isn't 2000 anymore and voters forget quicker about the company that politicians kept.  He didn't even argue that Trump won't run/won't be there to run then.

I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

"Give him a chance." ™

Or perhaps it will end the "we need a Washington outsider' talk from others.

It is telling that you use "Give him a chance" as some sort of condescending tag line. I'm willing to give him some time as we are a country of checks and balances.

You don't have to give him a chance if you don't want, because in the end it's pretty much irrelevant whether you do or I do or don't give him a chance.

I see it the opposite way.  He get's all the chances in the world until he does something so bad someone who can takes those chances away.

I, we, can't do anything for another four years except keep an eye on what he is doing with those "chances".

Yeah in four years.  The chance was actually given to him in November.  Giving him a chance or not giving him a chance now really means very little.

Nattering nabob of negativity Newt Gingrich weighed in a few weeks ago, saying that Trump was, "not going to survive unless he profoundly rethinks what they are doing and how they are doing it." I know, I'm an alarmist. Obsessed. But when that nimrod can read the handwriting on the wall it is getting pretty legible.

That's to be even more likely, now that the Net Neutrality bill passed.
Anonymous claims to have the tape, but was keeping it as an ace.
Look for them to use it as a bargaining chip, if they actually have it.

That is a golden chip to rival the golden ticket in Willy Wonka. Kind of appropriate since Trump's favorite color is gold and the world may soon see his Willy!

Keeping it as an ace though, is a little tougher to work out. Ace of Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts... not familiar with an Ace of Lemons... wait, I think I got it: Donny Boy was at the CLUB in Moscow and this stripper named DIAMOND stole his HEART. He wanted to go bareback so he demanded she be SPADE in the back room before they went to the shower room together. He knew he had every ace in the deck covered in this story, so he proceeded to get covered in some bubbling crude, Jaundice Juice, Leninist Lemonade, Putin Pee. While so doing I am sure you discerned from that last bit he was dancing around like another millionaire who fell ass backwards into his fortune, J.D. Clampett.

As Paul Harvey used to say, "And now you know the rest of the story." When you see it on Red Tube shoot me a text confirming this hot take. Can't wait to be vindicated. As for watching - hell, I still haven't seen the Pamela and Tommy Lee video. I am so behind on my celebrity porn viewing. If only spinach would do for my forearms what it did for Popeye's...

Tommy's hung like a bear !
But anyway... as long as you've seen the Tonya Harding tapes.

All I know about those is instead of yelling, "Action!" when they started filming, the director yelled, "Break a leg!"
