All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - StLucieBengal - 06-27-2017 http://www.dailywire.com/news/18014/watch-all-hell-breaks-loose-white-house-press-ben-shapiro Quote:WATCH: All Hell Breaks Loose As White House Press Secretary Takes On Media She is right. The guy who got upset should point his anger at his fellow reporters who are merely grandstanding looking for youtube highlights. RE: All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - StLucieBengal - 06-27-2017 RE: All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - Belsnickel - 06-27-2017 I think the real issue is that the reporters in that room are not the ones that are putting out things for ratings. Oftentimes the people just trying to push ratings are pundits that aren't really news people but rather entertainers. This conflation with news and entertainment on these 24-hour "news" networks does damage to the media like the ones in that room, like the ones on the streets, like the ones in the halls of Congress and state houses across this country. Corporate media exists because of certain regulations in our government and it just perpetuates this. We have monetized the news, and it is a bad thing. We need to stop conflating entertainment and news, but we also need the people in government to stop punishing reporters for what people they are affiliated with do. An opinion piece in the NYT or WaPo should not result in repercussions for the reporters in the press pool. Acosta should not be treated poorly for the fact that CNN answers to corporate backers that need ratings to make their profit. RE: All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - SunsetBengal - 06-27-2017 Well, then you have stuff like this, that proves the Pres' tweets about fake news to be absolutely correct. http://www.veritaslive.com/06-26-2017/americanpravdacnn.html [quote][CNN "ratings are incredible right now," President Trump "good for business" John Bonifield, CNN Producer Says Russia Narrative "Mostly bullshit right now" "Get back to Russia," Says CEO Jeff Zucker President Trump is Right About Witch Hunt, "No real proof" Comes in Wake of CNN's Russia-Gate Retraction & New Rules on Russia Coverage /quote] RE: All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - StLucieBengal - 06-27-2017 (06-27-2017, 08:07 PM)Belsnickel Wrote: I think the real issue is that the reporters in that room are not the ones that are putting out things for ratings. Acosta is nothing but a youtube glory hound who want to get on camera challenging the PS so he can get a show. This is the reason why the on camera briefing isn't necessary. Reporters can focus on reporting and the glory hounds can stay seated and do their job. There is a lot of good reporters in that room who get overshadowed by these glory boys. And you are correct, monetizing the news was a terrible thing to happen. Lucie, If Trump told a lie in a tweet, and a journalist wrote a story explaining how it was a lie, and then Trump sent out another tweet calling the story "fake news," should we be focusing on the presidential lie or the "glory hound" who kept the people informed about what the top elected official in the country was doing? RE: All hell breaks loose as WH press sec takes on the media - Vas Deferens - 06-28-2017 Well that didn't take long.
