The Post explains that presence of the Salvadorian gang has become so problematic in the Commonwealth that federal officials have been forced to engage in “a targeted, sustained effort to dismantle MS-13 and other violent gangs that threaten our neighborhoods.” Describing one of the gangland slayings, The Post documents how, “Victims included a 14-year-old boy, Giovanni Sanchez, who was stabbed to death and left in the street.”

Last year, The Washington Post reported: “[A]rmed with two machetes and a sawed-off shotgun, MS-13 gang members allegedly set off in a car… to carry out an assassination at a location as brazen as it was chilling: a Prince William County school.”

In all seriousness, we have seen a rise in MS-13 around these parts. Even in the Valley there is a growing gang problem. Part of it for us is I-81 is such a major thoroughfare for the east coast that a lot of trafficking comes through here. We get illegal immigrants that come here and work in the poultry plants. There is a network of people that get them to Ohio (no joke here, almost all of them have fake papers from Kentucky or Ohio) and get their DL and what not. We have a dedicated ICE office in my city because of it all.

Interestingly enough, MS-13, while present in urban areas, has been more prominent in more rural cities because some of the other gangs had not taken a foothold here.

I do see both sides and the illegals who had children here to game the system.   I don't have much sympathy for them.   As someone who has had to deal with the legal immigration process it really matters how you came here ....  And those who did it illegally need to go back and apply and get a sponsor to return.    And their kids can stay if they are 18.  If not then they go with the parents and can come back at 18.  

I just don't like how they have one set of rules for central  Americans and then another set of rules for everyone else.   I do not like the lack of consistency.   I would love to see raids on business to check status and if they find any... Prosecute the business and deport the illegals and their families.      Let then all come in the right way as allow us to pick and choose the best of the best to come here.    We don't need to take someone else's bottom of the barrel.
