The movie hops around and is a little disjointed and hard to follow. However, some of the footage (in particular, the aerial combat scenes over the Channel) are simply incredible!

It's an incredible experience for sure. The way Nolan (and Zimmer) were able to create and maintain a high sense of tension throughout the entire movie is an impressive feat. The story can be hard to follow as it is told in three separate timelines, but it ties together well in the end.

Read about it in Entertainment Weekly. They said it was a unique use of disparate time lines, not something done before in a movie. But, the way Nolan explains the logic of why he did it makes perfect sense, and it sounds like he pulled it off. Looking forward to seeing it, and already would have, but I wanted to let the opening weekend crush go by first.

I agree about the storyline. But I give it a B because a lot of the footage was really excellent.

I liked the film's perspective. There have been enough WWII movies with stuffy generals looking grim and moving pieces around on a map in some stone bunker. This gave you the view from those experiencing it first-hand. But, to each his own.

The visuals made the movie good, the tension (the score had a ton to do with this) made it pretty great, IMO.
