Aaron Rodgers released? - Jpoore - 12-24-2017

Very good possibility due to violation of ir rule. If we could sign Rodgers....... Man our team would be instantly sb favorite

Ahhh heck, it's Christmas so I will let this one slide and keep the sarcastic comment to myself. However, if it's on your Christmas list, remove it to prevent disappointment. Green Bay is one of the league elites and typical rules that apply to teams like ours, do not apply in Green Bay.

Dilly Dilly.

Chances of it happening are slim to none and if it somehow did, he would be a Brown.

No possibility of Rodgers being released.  And if he were, there is zero chance he would drop far enough for us to claim him.

He’s a vested veteran. If he were released, he wouldn’t be subject to waivers and would be free to sign with any team he chose.

Which would be Green Bay.

The comments he's made he last 2-3 years suggest he's unhappy.

RE: Aaron Rodgers released? - Jpoore - 12-24-2017

By rule he should have to be released

Somewhere out there a Browns message board already has a 45 page thread on dissecting this as a real possibility and thinking it's going to happen.

Perfect time for the league to step in, with Ben more than likely retiring after this year, and make sure the Pack stick to the rules as written. Gives Rodgers a chance to sign with Pitt and win 2 or 3 more SBs before he retires in 10 years.

Green Bay or not, it certainly wouldn’t be here.

For what reason?  Playing injured?

To go back on IR, he needs to have a "new" injury.

No, he just needs to be injured, and his collarbone was not yet 100% when he came back.

“NFL rules stipulate that a player needs to have suffered a new injury that would sideline him at least six weeks to be placed on injured reserve and, if that is not the case, the team is obligated to release the player once he is healthy.”

No, to your no.

RE: Aaron Rodgers released? - Fullrock - 12-24-2017

Aaron Rodgers was seen this morning leaving the Green Bay facility with a mysterious boot on his foot and on crutches. This after he walked into the facility this morning with no apparent foot injury. LOL!

Sounds about right. But if you don't want it to look sketchy, wouldn't it have been easier to say it was a new muscle injury somewhere around the surgery area?

Let’s get him. Also let’s get Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick too. Let’s put Jerry Rice in a time machine and sign 1987 Jerry Rice. Special advisor-Vince Lombardi. Scouting department will consist of Jesus and Santa.
