Wright State Basketball 2018 - Fan_in_Kettering - 03-07-2018

Let’s welcome Wright State University back to March Madness! This is the Raiders’ third trip — 1993, 2007, 2018 — to the NCAA Tournament since transitioning to Division 1. Before that, Wright State won the NCAA Division 2 Tournament in 1983. I have a feeling this is the year the Raiders will make it past the first round.

Fun fact: One of Wright State’s star players is Grant Benzinger, the son of former Cincinnati Reds great Todd Benzinger.

I believe that Tim Crowe, who went on to become the basketball coach at Franklin High, played at Wright State. I went to school with Tim and he was one of the nicest guys I knew. He was an absolute basketball junkie. During the summer he would be the first person to arrive at the outdoor courts at the city park and he would sweep them clean before everyone started playing.

Too bad WSU drew the Vols in the first round. Tennessee has some talent and good coaching this year.

I have WSU pulling the upset in the 1st round.  I would love to see UT make it quite aways, but this is one game I just have a feeling on.
