Yeah. I'm ashamed to admit I have a TikTok (we are trying to figure it out to use for Scouts recruiting) and I follow the original creator. It was awesome as a solo acapella song, and then people kept sharing it and adding to it.

Trick question. "Stand your ground Florida man" is white and only shoots black men so he doesn't get harassed... and there's a 50% chance he's a retired cop.

I'm the youngest of my group of teacher friends and the only one without kids, and yet somehow the only one without TikTok lol

A black man was shot and killed by police after a routine stop for speeding.

Maurice Gordon was pulled over for speeding and there was a routine, non confrontational stop. When he tried to move his car, it would not start. The officer called for a tow and they waited. He got out to ask the officer a question and was told to either stay in his car and wait in the back of the cruiser. He opted to sit in the back of the cruiser so the officer searched him for weapons. After waiting 30 minutes, he tried to get back in his car. At that point, the officer tried to stop him and physically engaged with him, despite Gordon not being issued a ticket or detained, before shooting the unarmed man multiple times. He then handcuffed him as he bled to death.

Nah, Florida Man comes from a long line of trailer trash and he has a long rapsheet and he resents the cops harassing him when they should be spending their time going after blacks and Hispanics who are doing way worse stuff than he is.

There has been a surge of Millennials on the app since the COVID stuff started, but it has especially been Millennial moms. Not gonna lie, the BSA is trying to tap into that. It's why I have the app, lol.

Its much easier to just get rid of the police, because who needs them in a city like Minneapolis.

I lived in Columbus for almost 18 years with almost all of those years neighboring the hood and crackheads at 3 different places. If Columbus decided to do what the geniuses up in Minneapolis are going to do (or so they said) and get rid of police, I would have moved asap. Nothing racist about that, but I wouldnt let some idiot's idealism end up costing me due to the realities on the street.

The lawyer for one of the officers who arrested George Floyd claimed that it was “questionable” whether or not Chauvin’s knee was on Floyd’s neck. He also questioned why bystanders didn’t stop the police...

In other news, Trump tweeted today that the old man pushed by Buffalo police was antifa, trying to jam police equipment, and took a dive

If that officer gets off I wouldn't want to be within 200 miles of that city.

Of course people will make excuses and say he was overcharged or there was enough doubt and police aren't all bad too.

As to the 75 year old:  That Trump is citing OAN and no Republican official is saying anything about it speaks to their spinelessness.  They deserve to go down with the ship.  I hope everyone of them is reminded every time the run about how they turned a blind eye on a crazy person in the WH.

Thy are not getting rid of police.  They are just greatly reducing their roles in non-violent situations.

Unfortunately this is 100% bullshit.

Police only create a very small portion of arrests.  The overwhelming majority of black people get arrested because other black people are victims of their crimes and call the police.

Based on percentage of population blacks are almost twice as likely to commit violent crimes and 70% of the time the victim is also black.  That is not based on arrest or conviction numbers which might reflect racism in the system.  Instead that is based on the Bureau of Justice Victim Survey numbers.

BLM will never accomplish anything as long as they refuse to address the high crime rate among blacks and the glorification of the "thug" identity.  White people did the same thing back in the 1930's.  Thy saw the banks as evil so they saw bank robbers as heroes.  It was wrong then and it is wrong now.  But the black community has to take care of that themselves.  And the first step is to stop lying about the crime numbers.

Is that what "defund" means?

It means moving money from say buying excess military gear to supporting mental health agencies.

Yes the police will have less funds...it does not mean the end of the police.

On Monday, two Minnesota law enforcement agencies said officers deflated tires there and elsewhere in Minneapolis.

Two law enforcement agencies acknowledged Monday that officers patrolling Minneapolis during the height of recent protests knifed the tires of numerous vehicles parked and unoccupied in at least two locations in the midst of the unrest.

show officers in military-style uniforms puncturing tires in the Kmart parking lot at Lake Street and Nicollet Avenue on May 30.

Images from S. Washington Avenue at Interstate 35W also showed officers with knives deflating the tires of two unoccupied cars with repeated jabs on May 31. Department of Public Safety spokesman Bruce Gordon confirmed that tires were cut in "a few locations."

"State Patrol troopers strategically deflated tires … in order to stop behaviors such as vehicles driving dangerously and at high speeds in and around protesters and law enforcement," Gordon said.

Gordon said the patrol also targeted vehicles "that contained items used to cause harm during violent protests" such as rocks, concrete and sticks.
"While not a typical tactic, vehicles were being used as dangerous weapons and inhibited our ability to clear areas and keep areas safe where violent protests were occurring," he said. As in all operations of this size, there will be a review about how these decisions were made."

Deputies from Anoka County followed state orders and joined the patrol and also cut the tires on vehicles on Washington Avenue, said Anoka County Sheriff's Lt. Andy Knotz.

Knotz said the deputies got their directions from the state-led Multiagency Command Center [MACC], which was coordinating law enforcement during the protests connected to the death on May 25 of George Floyd.

Towing the vehicles was not an option, Knotz said, because "you could not get any tow trucks in there" because of the mass of people in the area.
Val Ebertz, who was at the protests, witnessed police slashing tires in the Kmart parking lot at Lake Street and Nicollet Avenue in the midst of protests on May 30.

She added these were the same officers who "were tear-gassing and shooting us with rubber bullets to try to push us farther back into the Kmart parking lot."

Kyla Cook was with Ebertz and said "all of us were in shock" when she and others in the Kmart lot saw one member from a line of officers in riot gear knife the tires of an unattended pickup truck.

Among the vehicle owners whose tires were damaged was Star Tribune reporter Chris Serres, who was covering the protests the night of May 30 and returned to the Kmart lot about 1 a.m. to find that his car was among a few dozen with flattened tires.
"As far as I could see, it looked like all their tires had been slashed," Serres said.

Los Angeles documentary and television producer Andrew Kimmel said his tires were similarly slashed while parked in the Kmart lot. His video of the damage on Twitter has been viewed more than 1.25 million times as of Monday afternoon.

"It was every single car that was in the parking lot," said Kimmel, who has covered more than 100 protests in the past several years and added, "I've never seen the tire slashing before, particularly in a parking lot."

Spokesmen for the Minneapolis Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and the National Guard said their personnel were not the ones shown damaging tires in the videos and photos that are making the rounds on social media.

That sounds like restructuring, which seemed like what the Mayor was willing to discuss. But they insisted he commit to "defunding" or else he had to leave the public protest and do the GOT Walk of Shame.
