Lafell's experience is nothing to sneeze at but in the same breath his career has been fairly pedestrian. We'll have Boyd, Ross, and Malone to fill those shoes. Offense is going to be scary good if OL can block at all. Fun thinking about it for a change. RE: Training camp news, notes, thoughts, reaction, etc - grampahol - 07-31-2018 Never let it be said that Bengals fans always put the cart in front of the horse this time of training camp.. They're sounding like world beaters, but they still have to beat other teams. They always seem better on paper and as the season unfolds there's almost always something that changes from injuries to the opposition also being really good to just rotten luck. I'm really trying to feel upbeat about this season, but there is some history standing in the way that leaves just some kind of disconnect.. I really hope that my gut instincts about our beloved team is completely baseless and they come out and just knock all the pundits for a loop. Just once I'd like to hear the punditry have to eat some really tough crow meat. I agree. We can't count on Eifert to be there when we need him. And Tate just seems to go get the ball from what we've heard. I'll be pissed if he's not dressed for opening day. I think one more mold that needs to be broken. Will the cut or trade veterans prior to start of the year if there are others more deserving of the roster spot? I think 3 vets come to mind, Johnson, LaFell and Rey off the top of my head. That is about 11 million in salary cap savings I believe if all 3 are cut for younger type players who will be paid league minimum. Money would could use to extend Dunlap and Geno or grab a FA or trade for someone that could help us in 2018. I agree, seems like different mind set. Now cut vets and save some cap space if we have younger guys who can be as good this year and better long term? |
