Not really, before the snap, they have an official at each sideline staring right down between the two lines. If they didn't see it, they ignored it...

But after the snap, the strong side guy's responsibilities change, so the backside guy is looking now looking at the closest tackle to him, but doesn't have a good view of the interior.
