RE: Big signing - Yojimbo - 03-14-2019

Scouting report from when he was drafted. Some good athleticism, but not fluid and smallish frame. Would fit best as a nickel or dime CB.

This guy is garbage, typical Bengals signing

RE: Big signing - yang - 03-14-2019

So long DD, it was nice while it lasted. Anyone till arguing that we aren't rebuilding? We are continuing to sign scrubs to low rent contracts instead of players that would help you compete for a division. Rebuilding doesn't mean you ditch everyone, it's a soft rebuild. It let's us know this is the plan for the future. They are not going to try to win this year. They are going to build around the core draft picks of the last couple seasons and move on from there.

Over the years I've heard the words "bust" and "sucks" attached to Dennard so many times. Listen to people now.

RE: Big signing - Schmitbuck - 03-14-2019

Just saw its actually a 3 year deal. I think we have Dennards replacement.

We are not signing scrubs at low rent contracts.  We just paid Bobby Hart over $7 million dollars in 2019.

Not a single move we have made looks like rebuilding.  We have not jettisoned a single older player under contract or traded anyone for more draft picks.

Who’s next Ogbuehi for 5 year 70 million contract. My god what are they doing.

RE: Big signing - JungleRock85 - 03-14-2019

Doesn’t seem great but the bright side is maybe they will stay away from 1st round CB. I was starting to fear that and there isn’t even one worthy of pick 11 either.

RE: Big signing - fredtoast - 03-14-2019

three year deal for a guy who could not even make an NFL roster in 2017.

I predict a total eruption when the salary numbers are announced.

Everything they can think of to piss you off.

RE: Big signing - Bengalholic - 03-14-2019

Just hoping this is a very 'reasonable' contract.

RE: Big signing - THE PISTONS - 03-14-2019

62.6 PFF rating which is #77 CB. Not a bad depth signing if they slot him to be a 4th or 5th CB. Corners get injured and miss time and he'll be better than some 6th Round Rookie.

Now if we find they paid $5 million a year...then it's a different story.

He actually grades out better than Poole.

RE: Big signing - samhain - 03-14-2019

Nothing to get excited about. He's just a guy, much like Preston Brown and, to a lesser extent Hart (because Hart really isn't good).

If he really is that good in the slot, then I really can't be too upset about singing him in the place of Dennard. High end slot corners are making a lot of money now, and I expect that DD probably wants 8 or 9 mil per to hang around. Adding to that, if rumors that he wants to be a perimeter corner more than a slot specialist are to be believed, he may not have much of a future here.

Let's be honest, DD is a nice tackling corner, but he's not anything special. I'd look to the future and plan to pay WJ3 and let DD go try to get paid elsewhere. A cheap guy that's familiar with the new system and has slot skills is an ideal replacement if that's what Webb indeed is.

Even better, if he's the slot guy, then it lessens the chances that we blow another first on a corner. That's positive for me.

Compared to his 1st round draft position, he hasn't measured up.  This year, however, there are not a lot of better options out there.  We have a lot of holes to fill.  We don't need to make things worse right now.

RE: Big signing - THE PISTONS - 03-14-2019

I wonder how much DDs tackling stats are inflated by how terrible our LBs are.

RE: Big signing - Wyche'sWarrior - 03-14-2019

Never heard of him.

LB play inflated and defeated a lot of things last year. Dennard is a sure tackler though.
