Japan resumes commercial whaling - Belsnickel - 07-01-2019

I know what you're all thinking: when did they stop? However, for 30+ years the Japanese have been killing whales for "research" in Antarctic waters and then just so happening to sell the meat. So this is a new development.

There will be a lot of uproar over this in some circles, but the article does point out this will mean an end to their "research." At least hopefully. They are supposed to be sticking to their EEZ and staying within quota. I doubt that this industry will last, to be quite honest, though, which is something the article points out. The demand is dwindling.

The supply is dwindling too.
